Homing Indicator AFN-2

Does it work here or not? I checked Channel map, created own mission and it doesn't work.

Comm switch is on ABST, created own TACAN (?) with 40MHz (X or Y), in the plane is 40 MHz AM (Base Frequency in ME).

Any idea about this homing indicator to force it to work?

To make TACAN transmits signal you must go to "Activate TACAN" in Action menu, below "frequency setting".

Than you get standard chanel setting for TACAN and it is far from 40MHz. TACAN will not transmit with 40MHz frequency.

Currently it only seems to somewhat work with ILS frequencies.

Any beacons or vehicles that broadcast on a frequency do not work, as far as I tested.

Thx, so I'll add here as a bug. I found nice tutorial but on Dora:

BUT I did the same test on Anton (set freq at 40) few minutes ago and like Bf-109 it doesnt work, see this, needles started to move but... show nothing:

I tried it with the Dora set to "player" instead of "client". There you have an additional field for the AFN-2 main frequency. I've set this matching with the broadcasting vehicle and nothing moved. Also moving the radio to Channel 3 with the matching frequency did not do anything.

Edit:

I tried it now with client aswell in singleplayer and all channels tuned to the same frequency. The gauge did not move a single bit.

Also, interestingly, he does not have the additional "AFN-2 main frequency" field when setting up the frequencies.

I also tried it with the Anton now and couldn't get the gauge to move either.

  • 3 weeks later...

Test it on Caucasus.  It should work there at least for a few airfields. Unfortunately it doesnt seem possible to make it work on the WW2 maps.

Where? Freq range is between 38.5 to 42.3 MHz. This bug is confirmed. Maybe patch 27.01 will solve it I hope:
