Wrong Wind indication

Hi,

 

Just wonder if you know that the way you indicate the wind in mission editor is WRONG.

 

In aviation, the wind direction is indicated as "COMING FROM" and not "blowing to"

 

It means that, if you set the arrow like that   -->  , it is a wind from 270°.

 

The big advantage is that the runway are set in the opposite. On the runway 27, we takeoff heading 270°. So you understand how easy it is :

Wind 270° = runway 27 (whent such a runway exists).

I noticed that too. I believe it's the same in the IL2 BOS mission editor.

We've asked for a fix for years and still haven't gotten one.

It’s the way they decided to do it. Been that way since 1998 (?). Maybe a bit later but not by much. So they obviously don’t consider it a bug. Be interesting if the new weather modeling brings a change.

Yes, since the beggining of DCS history, and I STILL am not sure of it. Thats why I searched out this thread. Some day I will remember that it's backwards.

It was "right" when they did it in the ME. Times have sense changed. If you notice, the in-game ATC says it correctly.
