correct as-is Autorudder Overwriting Manual Rudder Input

Hi,

 

I usually fly without Rudder pedals and rely on autorudder to coordinate my turns. This works fine on the other warbirds and allows me to just use the twist grip on my X-55 for fine adjustments while lining up a target.

 

Last night while flying the P-47 I noticed that when I feed in some Rudder manually to line up a ground target, the autorudder function fights the input and forces the aircraft to remain coordinated, causing me to miss the target.

If you get rudder pedals (or even a twist stick) and turn off auto rudder, you will find what you are looking for.

That is how autorudder works. Try to aim using only ailerons.

I don't think you should use rudder for aiming anyway.

 

For me at least it always seems to produce more problems than it solves.

I agree with most, using auto rudder with manual rudder inputs would cause issues.
