Cockpit textures too aged for that time (44-45)

This is a restored F8, and this is how should have to be the textures cockpit for an aicraft that did survive probably for just only few weeks in WW2. The artist, for my opinion, did the classic mistake of warbirds creation in a flightsim, considering it as a museum aicraft and not like a factory new WW2 aicraft.

We need, as for A-10, the factory new cockpit.

The link doesn't work. Your statement that these birds died young and therefore had no time to get this worn look makes sense. But frankly, I don't NEED the factory-new look. More like a nice-to-have.

These pics are better.

However is not just only a cosmetic feature but a realism feature. Now, it does feel like a 2020 museum aircraft, not realistic at all: we are in 44-45.

I can't argue with you as far as realism is concerned. To explain my point of view: I only fly the Messerschmitt in dogfight missions vs AI (MP is pointless for me because of my old eyes and the lack of labels in MP). And in a dogfight I have absolutely no time to look at the interior of my warbird.

I agree fresher cockpit paint would look way better. Also i could be darkened a bit. I don't know why excatly, but somehow A8's cockpit weathering looks "fake" to me. 3d wise it's probably more accurate than D9 but it somehow looks older/less sharp espcecially in VR. Also, why on earth they made that leather cushion so angular on edges...never seen one like this on pics of real cockpits. Really ticks on my eye somehow... with few corrections it could be awesome cockpit though.

Edit; pics are for showing cushion only. Middle photo is unrestored Ta 152, but cushion in it is similar to earlier Fw models.

I agree about the excessive cockpit weathering. Some of the aircraft have the feel of a well used piece of mining equipment… I fail to see how an aircraft would reach that state with only a few months of use.

The weathering matter is an endless subject in model kit groups, and I can tell you even "factory fresh" aircraft get weathered even before they are sent to front line units, pretty easily seen in many pictures. The cockpit isn't different, once you use it it gets weathered, front line service means usually several sorties a day and they got worn pretty soon. Old paints and finishes seemed to hold almost nothing compared to modern day ones. Pristine museum examples aren't "the thing" exactly.

I worked almost 15 years as military a/c painter, i saw quite lot of weathered cockpits back then...in my opinion weathering is not a problem, just the way it's done with fw cockpit. It's not super bad, It just doesent look right somehow, like it's very dirty, also from places it should not be really. Also the bit weird cockpit lighting in dcs may be part of it.
