[REPORTED]The E-3A is not able to send SURV contacts via Link-16 to a distance greater than 135 nm.

Are you using any kind of mod? I ask this because I see you refer to two different E-3, when I only have one in DCS.

I see that the E-3 is able to send data from more than 300nm away but it does it with erratic results whilst the E-2 is very consistent.

No. It was a typo error. I corrected it in the text. Thanks for your post. But I use some mods in dcs. I deactivated them and performed a DCS repair. The result is the same. The maximum distance to which the E-3A Sentry is able to send an air track is around 140 nm. E-2D Hawkeye works correctly.

But I see different. I wonder what might be going on in order for us to see different behaviours.

Is your awacs high enough? Are there mountains around?

I'm going to see your track now.

Oh, you are trying from the ground!

Please make the tests in the air and report back your findings.

Thanks.

I performed the test, an airplane in the air above Senaki Airport at an altitude of about 25,000 feet. The same problem. Sentry is not able to transmit the position of the air contact above 140 NM.

But here's the problem with not seeing or being out of range on AWACS. If you see his position on the SA page, he sends you his position and altitude + identification. This is called PPLI (Precise Participant Location and Identification). It's one of the datalink messages. So the connection between the aircraft and the AWACS E-3A Sentry is established. It's just not able to send air contacts above 140 NM. E-2D Hawkeye works without a problem. Therefore, the topic was merged and renamed. This is no longer a datalink problem but a bug with the E-3A Sentry.

I meant you in the air.

You cannot be on the ground for this tests to be applicable.

Remember I see no issues apart from the E-3 being a little erratic.

Thanks.

Yes, the test was in the air. F/A-18 at an altitude of about 25,000 ft above Senaki.

Can you attach that track where you show the issue? But this time in the air please.
