Is there ANY way of seeing when certain file is being used by something to see if there's a conflict? In this case WorldGeneral.dll?

It is possible to see which process is using some dll but there are some limitations. You can try to check if something is using WorldGeneral.dll but I highly doubt it, it's more of a situation where something else doesn't give you permission to initialize it in the first place

http://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer

View -> Lower Pane View -> DLLs

Now when you click on specific exe you will see used dlls

First time I did it, I backed up what I needed, created a USB Windows install media, ran through the process of installation and completely wiped the drive Windows was being installed to. Nothing remained from old install. Currently, I'm moving data from D drive to one of HDDs to install another copy of Windows.

yeah sorry. i got confused with the 146 replies on this topic and missed that AutoDESK reference was from another user. and i still have not seen a description of what you are doing to do a fresh install of windows.

Sorry i use autodesk remote workstation, I thought you said you used a remote workstation? Thats what i was referencing.
The issue being if thats on, it will steal ALL your resources by priority.

EDIT: just noticed you have Dipawaymode on your processes, Thats also been known as an item that suffers the 05 Access Violation- Its a very old AISuite, DIP AWAY mode is a power saving feature that activates when the compute has been idle for some time. I think you can disable this feature by going into the 4-way menu of AI suite>EPU and then untick the away mode box and press apply.

@StevanJ interesting find. I've only ever had AIsuite for fan control, but I have uninstalled it earlier today. Can I somehow remove DIP now or should I reinstall AIsuite?

I'm currently downloading DCS on the secondary SSD that I freshly installed windows on, with all other drives disconnected. Only windows and Chrome are on this, I did not touch anything else.

You can uninstall the AI suite, Fan control can be done in the BIOS.
Where are you with DCS, Are you still on the base free version?
Could you post a fresh log please?

I can't upload photos from the phone, but as soon as I downloaded base DCS and tried to start it on CLEAN Windows install, exact same 2 errors from post 1 came up.

AISuite on main drive is uninstalled, obviously I have nothing on second one.

Here's the log from 3rd time I tried starting and made it to main menu.

Afterwards, I've disconnected all audio devices, no difference.

Did you install Google Chrome?
Check the Toolbar Apps.
Or even better uninstall it and try Mozilla Firefox.

It uses ALOT less resources.
If theres no difference after a few days, then we can change back.

(GChrome App) is known for causing the 0xc0000142 Error message.

Which is linked with the BEX error code found by Flappie earlier on.
And would explain why your error code changed when you disabled all services..

I did install Chrome so I can log in to my accounts easier. I will uninstall it.

When did the code change? Post 1 errors are same ones I've been encountering since November.

Code in post 1 = 142 (BEX64) hardware accelleration, on the launcher.
And ive only just noticed I missed a crash from..

AsusGpuTweak.dll

From your first log.. Which revolves around the fan control in the Asus software
When you disabled all services you still were running this program here

After disabling services, it moves to EDCore.DLL/WORLDGENERAL.DLL = 05 Which is telling us something is still using the resources, the first error code, is referencing hardware acceleration.
The second code, is for resources, which could be GPU resources.
Which means, the Asus software could be a conflict.

But i know Google Chrome uses hardware acceleration so, thats the other thing.

So far Asus GPU tweak, and google chrome are the link, IF youve installed windows correctly.
But it may not be..
Only you can tell us.

Chrome removed, PC restarted, DCS repaired, no change. Same errors as post #1.

Perfect, can you run a clean boot (disable all but microsoft services), and unplug all but 1 of your monitors?
Then re send a log.

Can you run this command in power shell, and paste table you get, just change my example path to your dcs world install folder

Get-FileHash F:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin\DCS.exe -Algorithm SHA256 | Format-List

EDIT: it would be nice to post every sha256 value of offending dlls also

Can you go into the bin file, and try the same but from DCS.EXE and NOT the launcher please?

Logs only get created when I get into the UI, otherwise nothing.

@XPACT reference post #1, identical 2 errors this whole time. What's sha256 value?

Command isn't working. "Positional parameter cannot be found that accepts argument 'Files\Eagle'

@StevanJ that is how I am trying.

If you cant get a dcs log get a dxdiag log, theyre just as good. Cheers

Also, update your geforce experience, add DCS to that, then use that as a launcher..

It is hashing algorithm in this case we are trying to use it as file integrity checker manually, it will always have same value if bits are correct when executed then we can cross check every offending file to be sure they are unaltered and saved correctly to the drive

Anyways my hashes are completly different but I am using stable and for some reason openbeta won't download over steam right now

Hm it's maybe due to standalone vs steam difference files are different

Can someone with standalone check their sha256 values of dcs.exe and worldgeneral.dll

EDIT: virustotal is also using sha256 and displays it so you can quick check files there

@StevanJ none of them can be disabled, they're critical Windows services.

Currently, my PC is effectively disabled with this SSD out of normal use. I will soon return it to previous state, so I can continue using my other games and programs I need in daily use, unfortunately DCS doesn't have that kind of priority.
