Theyre crashing..

Install all updates and drivers, and re-log please

Already have when I installed Windows.

I can't disable them, they keep coming back.

dcs.log Here's "something". I've attempted to start DCS after restart, only made it to the small black splashscreen before CTD without error.

It's almost 7pm and it has been 3 days non-stop of dead ends with nothing relating to anything. I have very little patience after 5 months of troubleshooting. I can't have my PC disabled from it's daily functions that I need it for for one game. Thank you both for trying, but I will have to return to the original installation because this isn't going anywhere and I need my data and programs back.

Can you post DXDiag too please

Oh my oh my what is going on with those bits there 🧐  I understand your frustration, it seems that somebody with access to more debugging tools must try to figure it out using data we all gathered so far

I am just waiting for someone with standalone version to confirm that those are correct hashes honestly at this point that would be only thing that comes to my mind

Same 3, Can you lower security? It could be bit defender is preventing the game from starting up.
Disable the service (Both of them) and reboot, try unplugging your cable for the net

Started once, all subsequent attempts resulted in same errors as post #1.

I am now moving all my data back to this SSD and troubleshooting will have to continue from previous install. I need my data back.

Where can I locate that file though?

When you need to locate any file, you put the name in the search box Bottom left.

How does device manager look? Any issues? Whats in the display drivers tab? Onboard video and GPU (should be just 2080ti)?

C++ 2019 Redistributable Download might help with fresh .DLL's

Intel Dynamic Application Loader has known issues. Wether or not you want to remove that's on you?

Ive included my (bin folder) edcore .DLL, Ive NO IDEA what might happen if you want to try it or not. But if you do, worsed case scenario youll have to reinstall the whole of windows again. Or roll it back from from a save point in safe mode. So back your up.

At this point ill remind you to recheck DCS 1.5 to see if that boots, and ill also suggest you try nicely asking others from the forum (Put the error codes in the search box and send them a polite message to see if they found a resolve).

Look at Deleting the mission editor folder.

Just make sure you check the file with defender. If it helps, and moves your crash up from

Lua: Lua CPU usage: metric: average game loading: 36.7632 %
Maybe youll just need the other files too as they crash.

Otherwise, ill have to check in on monday (two days from the big update)..

To make things easier you can just submit them to virustotal and copy that long string of text you get from each, just mark which one is for which

After long 2 days of troubleshooting with a DCS admin and very IT savvy guy far deeper than what was suggested here, we've hit a dead end yet again. Last step I did was remove all but one drive, install fresh Windows 1903, installed DCS, got same 2 errors as post 1, tried with just 1 of each of 4 sticks of RAM, no difference. Unfortunately I do not have another PC to test this on, but I suspect it everything would work 😕

Thank you all for trying, but there's something deep in my PC that happened in last 6 months that's preventing just DCS from working and I can't figure out what. I'll take a look at resetting BIOS, but I really do not want to do it unless I have to.

  • Thanks 1

Windows 1903? An earlier post gave you a link to the latest Windows build. End of life for 1903 was December 2020 1903 EOL So you created a USB with an already out of date OS? You likely were not doing Windows updates as you said you were doing.

Resetting the BIOS.  Even an expert of my caliber would try it probably early on. Back up the current one of course. And the windows ver. ... what silverdevil said.

OK, my expertise is exhausted, hehe.

Read more carefully: first reinstall was months ago on main drive with latest and is kept updated at all times.

Several tests were done in last 2 days with multiple reinstalls of latest Windows downloaded 2 days ago on secondary drive, and then as last resort, I tried 1903 I had on storage drive to see if it'll make a difference, considering I do not have another PC to test it on.

You tried, thats all you can do.
Hopefully the new update midweek, will bring you joy.

If not come back and we'll try again.

Speaking to a guy this morning on discord, he mentions he had similar errors in another flight sim.

An App called Volanta (a sim tracker) rewrote a majority of his .DLL's on a different game.
Although it didnt effect his DCS. Just game him alot of pain in a different sim.
I noticed you too had the same tracker..

Im sorry we couldnt help.

One little question if I may (without going through all the troubleshooting quest):  Does this crash happen in SP with net disconnected?

I know someone that went through similar pain... his problem was resolved though after the complete re-install of OS. Well, re-image of 'clean' install after complete re-zero of drives and upload of bios.

I indeed installed Volanta, but I never even ended up trying it and removed it sgortly after. It would be very surprising for such software that was installed on one drive to cause problems on another physical after several formats and Windows installs.

Thanks again for trying, for now it's a mental exercise.

I have not read every post, but have you tried downloading and running a VRAM test on your GPU? I was having the exact same error, struggled for months. Finally ran a VRAM test on my GPU and it failed. Replaced the GPU and it fixed it. Just a thought.

I have about a year old ROG 2080Ti, not overclocked and hardly over 50% load, I'll try, but it better not be the case lol.

Also, finally a log today:

We've had multiple CTD's on several of our servers, both dedicated and not, on three separate systems running different missions.  Hard to see a rhyme or reason.

I am seeing this regularly on all servers logs, which I haven't seen in the past.  These are on two seperate computers on either end of the country running different missions.
