6800xt not boosting in dcs

Recommended Posts

For the Rx we went with Stock settings and the other time with ram at 2150 and 15% increased power target. Bar was activated both times. Driver was 20.11.2.

We played over an hour without problems.

For DCS we used the standard VR graphics settings...will fiddle with that in future.

So we testet today with a XFX Rx 6800xt. The card runs like a charm and I can't confirm any driver problems or funny behaviour with the boosting clock.

We get over 70fps with a Pimax 8kx and a Ryzen 5900x CPU. We will do some benchmarks early on this week with 6800, 6800xt and a 3080 with ryzen 3600, 5600x and 5900x.

Oh yes this kind of benchmark I have waited for ! I have 3080 but still preordered Nitro+ Radeon RX6800 XT, not sure which one is better for G2.

A smart pc gamer won't buy AMD gaming GPU.

That's just crap talk. I'm an nVidia user for quite a while now, mainly because performance wise they delivered more then AMD could (and since flightsims require some power, it was an obvious choise) but the last time i switched from AMD to nVidia, i could almost cry. The performance boost i was looking for was there alright but the AMD picture looked just a lot better then the nVidia one, even after some heavy tweaking. More vibrant colors, less shimmering (although it was there on both, it was a lot more visible pronounced on the nVidia card then on the AMD card), overall way better looking picture then nVidia delivered. If it was not for the performance boost, it would have swapped immediatlly back to AMD and trew the nVidia in the bin.

Actually, back in the days I preferred ATI ( now AMD for the younger generation ) over Nvidia just because of that much better visual quality. It was so obvious it was out of question. 2 screens side by side, 1 ATI and 1 Nvidia and it was clear who had the better looking picture.

eathis just a quick question, what kind of powersupply are you using? It might or might not be related to the problems you are describing.

I am also eagerly awaiting some reviews and tests of the 6800XT in DCS, as that is the card Im really interested in buying (if it ever gets to stores in Europe that is) failing good results in DCS I will probably go for the 3080RTX even though it is more expensive, and Im worried about the VRAM issues (I want to get good VR performance in DCS, and here the VRAM size is key)

Specs: Win10, i5-13600KF, 32GB DDR4 RAM 3200XMP, 1 TB M2 NVMe SSD, KFA2 RTX3090, VR G2 Headset, Warthog Throttle+Saitek Pedals+MSFFB2  Joystick.

He would have other issues long before the GPU gives any sign of being under-volted, like HD failure...

Same here, that's how I know, I experienced HD failure with a bad quality PSU in the past, but no indication of under-voltage from the GPU.
