I ruined the engines... what the 'heck'...

Was just trying to test maximum speed of 2.34 mach, the STALL lights went on, and the engines went on fire !

 

Maybe the US Navy will kick me out, but I've got no money to pay for their repairment.

Was your autopilot on? I just dropped something into the bugs problems forums on this. Without the A/P on, I've got the jet above 2.0M, with it on, it blows up regularly at 1.1M.

There is an AP limitation for Mach 0.9 as per the NATOPS. So you shouldnt be using it anyway at those speeds.

I don't know if it was on or off... and didn't ever used it in the Tomcat.

(Neither do I know how to activate or de-activate it.)

I'm aware of that, actually, but it's not on account of the engines.

Weird, I just did some high speed tests and high altitude dives and everything held together.

(Although I've commented at that section, I don't know if its a bug or normal functioning).

 

However was able to attain Mach 2.34 already, provided that one doesn't engage the afterburners at very slow speeds when on high altitude.

The fastest i was able to get was Mach 2.62 (Clean plane with tanks Jettisoned once empty)

 

Was it continuous level flight or descent? ICAO standard 15°C?

Did just a brief test....starting 20+k....full Afterburner... 2 Bags 3x7 in the Tunnels and 2x9. Plane struggles to break mach 1 and kept below 1,2 before the engines blew up. :dunno:

I think HB is working on a fix or have already done so. Some bug related to the engines overheating.

Is there anyone testing lantirn pod w/ LGB after this patch?

I just tested only once but GBU-10 did not follow lasing (though it can be my mistake)

 

I haven't had any issues with either the GBU-12 or GBU-16. Were you within the release parameters and did you have the laser latched? If I'm bombing, I only go to the pilot's seat for release and then return to the RIO's seat for bombing.
