No it’s not necessary at all. The IFFCC wind model does a very good job of correcting for the wind.

Seen a few videos on how to do it, but any videos I watch of people including full start up in their mission don't do it. Is it not really necessary?

 

Hi Bunyap did a video on this in his on the range series, it’s an old video but still relevant.

No it’s not necessary at all. The IFFCC wind model does a very good job of correcting for the wind.

 

In my experience, it seems like manual entry really only makes a real difference for WCMDs. Comparing 105s dropped on the same SPI and using the same settings, the one with manually-entered wind data always seems to be more effective than the one without.

This should really be more public. I used to use a "CDU wind brief" mod (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.c...files/2080541/) which stopped working recently so this is a godsend. now I have to go try it...

...and it does not seem to work with the latest OB...
