hansangb
Google for 5900X to get your 30 seconds back ;-) It won't fit in your VIC 20 so you're going to have to upgrade to an Amiga. I never could understand why people get sooooo attached to their HW or vendor. For me, it's just a tool to let me play DCS in best possible way. (And other work, of course) But glad you're excited for the AMD launch. I hope it lives up to your expectations. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1

LucShep
Have to say... I'm very impressed with those results. Also with the single core ones - judging from 3950x to 5950x it's ~17% gains, like they promised. Also impressed with simple CPU-Z benchmark, where the 5900X (12c/24t) is put against a stock R7 3700X (8c/16t). For reference, the i9 9900K (stock) does 543 on single and 5423 on multi. https://m.hexus.net/tech/news/cpu/145873-amd-ryzen-9-5900x-cpu-z-bench-shows-impressive-1t-gains/ Edited October 2, 2020 by LucShep system specs: Spoiler Win10 Pro x64 | Intel i7 10700KF (all core OC 5.0GHz) | 32GB DDR4 (3466MHz CL16) | RX 5700XT 8GB (@ 2085/1820) | 256GB(OS) + 500GB SSDs | 1TB + 3TB HDDs | 650W PSU (Seasonic 80+Gold) 32'' 1080P 75Hz (IPS) | M-Audio USB + Samson SR850 | T16000 stick + X52Pro throttle + TrackHat (w/OpenTrack)
chp
This is long running benchmark. Intel can only do bursts to 5.3, making sure there are less drops/stutter. AMD can only boost one core to 4.6-4.9 Intel can have all cores boost (Vulkam welcomes it). In theory, Intel still maybe the king for games.
Gruman
I dont get the "RIP Intel" mentality of the internet... After 16 years AMD finally plans to launch a product that is a tiny bit faster. About 5 Months after the Release of the 10900K Series. Its great there is finally some competition, but Intel is still a solid choice, even if in some cases a 5900X might have a small benefit in performance. I'm happy after months of consideration, I picked a 10900K in August instead of a 3900XT. IMHO the 10900K probably still comes out on top in DCS. :music_whistling::joystick: Intel I9 10900k | MSI MEG Z490 Unify | Corsair Vengeance 32GB - 3600MHz | MSI RTX 3080 | TM Warthog & Hornet | VPC T-50 Base | TM TPR| Rift S & Reverb G2 | PointCtrl | VRK 42VFG looking for pilots [EU]

Wali763
If I just had bought a I9-10900K with an expensive watercooling-solution Id also say, Intel still is the best. :smilewink: And it boosts up to 5,3Ghz. Alt least some chips in very rare occasions, even though I probably would have never seen it do so. From what we have seen yesterday, it might be that AMD comes out top on 90% of games. But we will have to wait first for good reviews. But since there is no decent source for CPU-comparisons in DCS, everybody will interpret this in his own way to come out on top. And of course DCS is way different to everything else...:smilewink: If I had a 10900K, Id be happy; but Id also be happy to have a 5900X. Nevertheless, if I go for a new CPU right now, Id go with the latter. But just because Id still be able to use my Noctua NH-D15-cooler.... Id not care for the 3-5% the 5900X will offer more in gaming performance. I guess only the top fanboys of each brand will be able to see that difference. reece146
I figured I'd ride out to the next Intel generation - expected AMD to only get around Intel numbers on single core. Now I'm thinking the gaming rig I built in Jine (10700k) will get turned into a workstation (my current Linux box is long in the tooth - 3770k) and I'll jump on a AMD CPU/mobo for DCS. theGozr
Going with 5900X over the 5950X.. The 5900x has a stronger single core with more cache per core.. more room for OC .. Was hard decision to make but 12 cores is good 16 wont see a difference really just less pure speed. Photoshop no diff.. IMO the 5800X is a very good one for the price.. and the best is the 5900X if you have more things running on the background Fly it like you stole it..
