Mission 3 Please Give Me Numbers I am Losing My Soul

I have spent countless hours on this stupid long mission and I am freaking tired of it man. This has spawned from the thread here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4499370#post4499370. Basically I cannot get the bombs to hit via the coordinates. I have wasted soooo many hours on this dumb mission I at first was thrilled about.

Please tell me the exact Elevation Coordinates, as they need to be entered because nothing will get this bomb on target. I'm sure itrs just me, but if I don't get what needs to be entered verbatim this is going to go on for the rest of time.

Heres my last entire video unedited but you can jump to the last 20 minutes or so if you want.

https://youtu.be/73px-1D4NAU. Not really needed cuz all I need is exactly what needs to be entered, spelled out idiot proof.

Lastly. Could you please get the mission save feature to work. It would have saved me countless hours of my life instead of having to fly an hour + just to get rejected and do it all over again.

It was fun flying it the first 5 times.

Now this is 2 and a half hours of just pure suck.

Hello all,

Thank you for trying to help, I am very appreciative for your responses so please do not take my frustration as a sign of ungratefulness

I have added yet ANOTHER 2 hours to the 20+ consecutive hours spent on this turd. I tried the numbers on the link above (which is still is not number by number idiot proof) and I am missing the target by even GREATER distances.

Please somebody tell me, number by Number (example TGT UFC + N + 3 + 0 +3 + 0 + 0 + 4 + ENT + 0 + 0 + ENT) what The Long and Lat and elevation needed is. I even clocked in late for work today trying to pass this mission. I do not have alot of free time lately so please,

please,

please,

give me this in "cheat form" so I can complete this.

I also hope later down the road the development team adds some kind of note or something to stop other people from going down this horrible road of frustration. This is a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG mission. With NO way to SAVE or checkpoint your progress and there should not be this big of a translation gap for us average Joes. No mission should leave you stuck for weeks and make you late for work, I feel this is a major fail for the Raven 1 Campaign (it certainly destroyed the fun I was having with it)

I enjoy learning and overcoming obstacles but this is a glitch as far as I am concerned. If cannot progress naturally without needing "Cheat Codes" and being confused out of your mind than I think the problem goes beyond user error. Not to mention the non-working "checkpoint" which neither saves your progress or lets you try again. This would have cut the burden of this mission in half. This is way too long of a mission, and this comes from someone who enjoys flying NY to LA in a sim REAL time.

I don't have the map or the campaign but the technique will apply just the same.

Here's the thing I want to kill. It happens to be the kT outer beacon for runway 07 at Kobuleti but we can pretend it's a building in Syria.

attachment.php?attachmentid=248568&stc=1&d=1601246590

We can see the coordinates in the upper left corner in the default format N 41°55.11' and E 41°48.17'.

attachment.php?attachmentid=248569&stc=1&d=1601246590

To make our lives a little easier and to show an important concept we're going to box the PRECISE option on the HSI>DATA page and change the LATLN DCML to LAC LN SEC on the HSI>A/C page.

attachment.php?attachmentid=248570&stc=1&d=1601246590

Now we see the FLIR coordinates both more precise and in the new format: N 41°55'06.67" and E 41°48'10.65". It's the exact same location. I leave it to you to understand why 55 minutes and 6.67 seconds is the same thing as 55.11 minutes.

attachment.php?attachmentid=248571&stc=1&d=1601246590

Type in latitude of degrees, minutes, and whole seconds. Press enter. Type in the fractional seconds and press enter again. The actual sequence for my mission is N-4-1-5-5-0-6-ENT-6-7-ENT and for your mission is N-3-0-3-0-0-2-ENT-4-0-ENT because you want N 30°30'02.40".

attachment.php?attachmentid=248572&stc=1&d=1601246590

That is the result on the JDAM page.

attachment.php?attachmentid=248575&stc=1&d=1601247836

With emphasis on the two part entry.

attachment.php?attachmentid=248573&stc=1&d=1601246590

Repeat for longitude using the same technique. Elevation you know how to do. Your mission's longitude entry is E-4-7-4-0-0-2-ENT-4-0-ENT to enter E 47°40'02.40". Notice "PP1" doesn't have X through it now. Now bomb is programmed enough to release.

I did all of this to the best of my ability.

It missed.

My coordinates given are

30 30 04

47 48 04

converted by dividing 4 by 60 = 30 30 06.66

I honestly dunno what to say at this point.

What happens if you entered the JTAC coordinates as a waypoint, and then waypoint designate the point as a target?

Guess I will have to convert it also, because JDAM needs DD MM SS.SS

I guess I am simply to stupid to calculate N 30 30 04 / E 47 48 04 the right way

I get N 30 30 02 40 / E 47 48 02 40 if I multiply by 60.

If I enter it here http://www.legallandconverter.com/p50.html I get 30° 30.067' N 47° 48.067' E

So ho w do I convert the right way into DD MM SS.SS ?

Thanks Guys!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I cannot thank you all enough yes that did it . That ended an entire month of 2 hours per day me redoing this mission! Just for clarification for other people I entered those coordinates WITHOUT boxing precise or changing the way the F18 displays coordinates. Basically just inputted those numbers. Now I should be ok doing that for the future.

Thanks for sticking with it!

Now I am having an odd issue/glitch with using the TPOD for this mission but I will start a new thread for that ("TPOD Problem and help with callouts"). My TPOD worked for the first bomb, then it goes wonky and the camera no longer points where the HUD thinks its pointing.) Even switching to CCIP just shows my bomb fall line Horizontal to the right or left. I had to strafe the jeep but it worked. I'm almost back to feeling confident in the F18

Thank you all

Fang

Sorry, I didn't know what the original format was. 30 30 04 is either 30°30.04' or 30°30'04'' It's impossible to know without talking to the mission designer. If it's the first one then you enter N30° 30' 2.4''into JDAM. If it's the second one you enter N30° 30' 4''.

So Fang, what exactly did you enter in the UFC to hit with the JDAM?

Your Cheat sheet.... Many Rebels died getting us this information...

N 30 30 02 ENT 40 ENT

E 47 48 02 ENT 40 ENT

Did you enter an altitude? JTAC says 1200. I guess feet not meters.

Thank you

Side question now on mission 3. It said my progress was saved after AAR but when I end the mission at that point and restart the mission it takes me back to the beginning on the deck.

Thank you

According to the 9-Line card kneeboard page SE 1200 is the position of the friendlies (1200 metes south-east from the target), it's line 8. The elevation is line 4, right before the description of the target. In this case it was 10 feet MSL.

I entered the coordinates into Waypoint 59 as N 30 30 04 ENT E 47 48 04 ENT, then slewed the pod to that waypoint, saw a building, centered the crosshair on it, turned on TOO mode for the JDAM, and started my run. The JTAC told me to continue, which I did, and now, after I've read this thread, I realized that I used the wrong coordinate format  Luckily the difference between N30°30'04" E47°48'04" and N30°30.04' E47°48.04' is only 65.3 meter, so I was able to spot the right building anyway.

Also something bad happened after I told my wingman to attack the last target, after using F2 I found out that his airplane was bouncing of the ground with no pilot inside. I guess invulnerability made it bounce instead of crushing, but why did Smoke eject?

Is it possible that he ran out of fuel? I did it in one run, but it took me forever to top off, and he topped off before me, so he was burning his gas watching me failing at refueling for solid 30 minutes. But I made it back to the tanker with 6000 lb after doing all the bombing, so Smoke should have had enough gas flying high cover for me. Maybe he used afterburner at some point during this time? :dunno:

(spoiler below, don't read it if you haven't finished this mission yet)

He wasn't hit by the MANPAD.

P.S. I didn't want to quit, so I refueled for the second time and landed on the carrier. Surprisingly my score was 100%, and I was able to progress. I did miss out all the dialogs which happen on the way back from the tanker, so I replayed the second save mission (R1 M03 ALT B).
