Matias Montaldo
Hi All, I write this second post asking for help to the devs because I can confirm that the following modules are showing serious fps drops after the last updates (I'm playing the current beta): F-14 MiG-19 MiG-21 F-18 Harrier Mirage-2000 All of the above went from a stable 60 fps to 40 fps when I fly low and turn my head to look at the trees and land objects. I guess it must be related with a bug or something that relates to the new additions into these models (radars, new textures, etc). I never experienced something like this before in those modules. Someone in eagle dynamics must take a look, please! Is very annoying not to be able to play due to an update than I can't reject (I'm on steam). The aircraft below work perfect and without any problems of fps drop (please do not broke them :) Su-27, Mig-29, A10, Su-25, Yak-52, MiG-15, F-16, F-15 Please help. I can't use half of my modules. PD: I tried with differnet drivers, configs, windows tweak, everything. I'm sure is related with the aircraft recently updates.
Flappie
Hi, can ou please attach your dcs.log file? If you're using MSI Dragon Center to max DCS performance, please remove DCS from it. Matias Montaldo
Hi bignewy, No unfortunately I tried this before, with all possible combinations and the problem remains the same. The game runs stable at 60fps all the time and suddenly, when you approach a forest the fps drop automatically to 40 fps. This did not happened at the June release. The proof (i guess) is the fact that the F16 runs smooth like a baby, the same with the Mig-15 and all Flaming Cliff planes. The issue comes with the F-14 and razbam modules. Thanks anyway for the advice. Very appreciate.

Flappie
No, I don't have an MSI utility. Please find attached the dcs.log file. Matias, your pagefile is too small (5 GB for 16 GB of RAM). You should try forcing it between 8 and 16 GB: Min: 8192 MB Max: 16384 MB Here's how to do it. Don't accept indie game testing requests from friends in Discord. Ever. Matias Montaldo
thanks for reviewing the log file. Unfortunately I tried with all the pagefile configuration possible. Even with 8 or 10 GB the impact in performance is 0 (the problem remains the same). What I noticed is that when I approach a forest, the GPU usage goes down from 80% to 50%, and that makes the CPU usage go lower as well, but a little less. Maybe from 30% to 25%. So I guess the problem is with the GPU that reduces the power in the moment I need it most.
Flappie
I quote a friend of mine that I've just helped with his performance issues (that are now gone, apparently): Still need to make another few tests but the pagefile issue could have been the culprit. Mine was set automatically at 5GB by the system. I manually set it to 16-32GB and have seen improvements in MP. Your DCS log shows W10 is only giving 5 GB of pagefile. Increasing the minimum page file size to at least 8 GB should make a difference, even if this doesn't completely solve your issue. You really should give it a go. Hell, make it even 12 GB min /16 GB max, it'll cost you nothing. Seeing as you have the latest W10 version (2004), you should also test turning GPU scheduling off. PravusJSB
third party modules have more details means uses more resources This. But also, the window of performance is subtle with DCS due to the single core nature of it. May I ask, do you use VR? Also what is your CPU/GPU and what is your memory capacity and speed? A lot of the time I see people running high spec GPU with CPU's that cannot keep up, interestingly to slow you GPU down turn up some settings that are GPU dependant to enable the CPU to keep up.
