Arbil
https://youtu.be/ZMmaFzbCqZE?t=1726 I was watching that and it mentions the F16 tracking and bombing moving targets with just the doppler radar, unless I misunderstand it. Is that something we will get eventually in the DCS Viper?
razo+r
If the real (and our specific type) F-16 has it, then we'll most likely get it too. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=241132
Frederf
The GMT radar mode will find moving targets basically taking two radar pictures and subtracting them to find what has moved. You can also track these returns similar to FTT. But there's no leading with weapons against moving targets so no bombing moving targets.
Delareon
depends which kind of ammo. If you want to do a precicion strike then GMT isnt the way to go. Thats more a TGP Laser Guided Bomb thing. But if you want to drop some CBUs on a Konvoi through some thick clouds for example, that will work. Speed of the vehicles isnt really a factor if you fly with 350kts. only if you want to be precise. Its also not always an aiming thing, you can use the GMT to find the targets and then use the TGP to aim.
Frederf
If your bomb drop is 20-30 seconds, ground vehicles can move a long way in 20-30 seconds.
Delareon
Not too far for a Cluster Bomb. I was talking about an convoi, i will not be able to Hit a specific car but i will be able to hit the convoi. You should also consider to get a bit lower if the Bomb needs 30 Seconds.... Anyways its a workaround for sure, real tracking would be better. Which will come somewhat later.
