Looks pretty close for the Primary Landing spot, needs to come about 3 feet to port and maybe both the abeam landing stop and the primary landing spot need to move forward about 6-10 feet. Airboss use is totally acceptable as is though.

Ended up moving the Landing Coordinates a little forward 6 ft and it works very well now for landing just behind Spot 7.
Quick video I did doing a run around the pattern with Airboss. Really looks great Admiral. Thanks again.

It is simply working with moose airboss. Look here: https://flightcontrol-master.github.io/MOOSE_DOCS_DEVELOP/Documentation/Ops.Airboss.html

First you have load moose in development version then you have to execute a small little script which starts moose airboss.

@PeneCruz modify moose in a way that it works with the America. I will implement it on our server.

Hey Guys!

 

I have been working to get the USS Tripoli livery working with the assistance of CarzyEddie! Right now i'm trying to see if i can get the Wings on the America removed and also different Call Sign Flags to show on the USS Tripoli! Once done i will release the livery!

Could you share the mission file to practice landings on the America please? And for that matter the mission for the L61 as well.

Upyr1 Hawkeye60 creates older WWII models and i create Modern vessels. Believe it or were always working together in some way. Sharing thoughts and ideas.

 

Near_Blind are you saying the USS Kidd doesn't work with DCS Version 2.7? Let me check her now!

Not at all! I use your Kidd quite alot in my missions for variety, but I'm pro Spruance because it fills a different mission niche. With SM-2 the Kidd is an effective area air defense platform, even though it has a lower rate of fire than the VLS Aegis ships, the SM-2 still provides enough depth that it can interdict most attacks that don't involve large numbers or deadly ASCMs (or both). 

The Spruance, even with VLS, never had Standards. They were Tomahawk (and VL-ASROC if it existed in game or had any purpose) buckets. They have a credible point defense capability with the Sea Sparrow and CIWS, but medium numbers of attackers, or anything but the smallest number of ASCMs will threaten to seriously overwhelm the ships ability to defend itself. As some one who mostly flies air to air stuff in the Tomcat, that makes it an interesting mission asset because it can be convincingly threatened by a less capable enemy force, which means your performance as the CAP is more impactful to the outcome of the scenario. For instance instead of multiple flights of Su-24s throwing Kh-31s, I can instead achieve a similar result with a flight or two of Fitters using Kh-29s, Kh-25s or even rockets. 

It also doesn't hurt that the class was ubiquitous enough that they could reasonably encountered in most potential task groups or alone, whereas there were only four Kidds. All of my arguments here also apply to the Knox class if we ever find a model for those. This is part of a large complaint I have where surface ships in DCS are either hyper lethal or capital ships, with very little variety in between.

I figured the two of you were probably sharing some ideas and and resources. Any how sometime back someone bundled all the naval mods into a single zip file. I think it owuld be cool to see an updated bundle I know some ships don't work like the Lialong

Hi Admiral,

 

I saw that the ModelViewer 2 tool of ED allowed to visualize runways and routes which are described in the XXX_RunwaysAndRoutes.lua files. To do this, you need to load a _LOD1.edm file in addition to the edm file, then the XXX_RunwaysAndRoutes.lua file.

 

For the desdemicabina-simulation Canberra: load L02.edm, then L02_LOD1.EDM and finally L02RunwaysAndRoutes.lua and you get this:

Is there such a file _LOD1.edm for the USS America?

Quick question from my side, as I Couldn’t find it online or in this thread.

 

If I wanted to build a relatively modern MEU task force with the USS America at its center, what ships with this consist of? I’d like to incorporate that into a mission.
