this has been answered so many times but is their a reason why the harriers wont take off from the queen liz ship mod. i know that theirs a bug with Tarawa and i think america but like why does it always line up flaps down and then the wheel chock just appear and then it wont take off.

Hi,

I personally have no such difficulty with the AI AV-8B takeoff.

The take off of a single AI AV-8B aircraft from the parking spot works perfectly whether it is on the USS America (thank you Admiral for this marvel), the Tarawa or the Queen Elisabeth.

Difficulties can arise with several AI aircraft. They sometimes block each other depending on the route from the parking area to the take-off point.

Its a game problem, not a Mod problem. The exact same issue happens with helo's, first one sits on the deck, the remainder do the same, engines off, wheels down, doors open etc. The blades start to turn and whilst the first one's wheel stay down, the rest pop back up. Its been a mess for as long as I can remember.   I have spent ages playing around with the lua's with no solution in sight.

One aircraft good - more aircraft bad.

PS: How can you trust a man who cant remember what he had for breakfast ... and he always has porridge !!!  🤔

Hey Guys! I will be back in the saddle soon!

Here's what i have been working on lately. I want to Thank Eddie for assisting with the liveries once again.. There's multiple liveries, USS Emory S. land, USS Dixon, Frank Cable and L Y Spear. There's two versions of the mod. One with and without the mooring Buoys.  I will work on the Mount Whitney next and release both together. Forgot to mention! Thanks NavyBrown for the idea!

My plan over the next few weeks is to create one or more escort ships mods for the USS Forrestal release.

👍 I missed the ship too!

Your models always have a bit much red or a too high water position, maybe they are still unloaded...  😉

or the water is too clean.

Mapi - Its not really the ships that are too red, its the way the water is rendered in the game. Its almost completely clear to any depth, and real sea water isnt like that, whilst it looks nice and blue its full of all manner of rubbish and detritus, which changes the depth you can see to at certain angles.   The solution is simple though, just add a few knots of wind to your mission and the surface of the sea changes to suit, slight rippling or serious waves if you go overboard, that hides the redness quite well.

The other option is to extract the ships hull textures and make the underwater parts darker, or even black. Many warships have black lines between the red and grey, many are all black.

Hey Mapi!

As Eddie said the red will still show even if i lower it in the water. Also the original textures angled up a bit so you will see the red. I will tone down the color!! Honestly i don't like the new look. I like the old weathered look because no ship is immune from rust and algae.  I will try to release her this weekend. Haven't had much time to work on her. I'm working Full time in the office now.

Gunter i couldn't find an older LPD model out there.. i found one but it's crap. I will try to include USS Mckee Hull livery with the AS on release.. Thanks for letting me know!

Hey Greg,

Yes, my plan is to release the AS-39 Sub tender this weekend. I'm not sure if i will be able to finish the Mt Whitney.. I will also make a livery for the Blue Ridge as well. I also need to release the update to the America with the Tripoli livery.

In the short short term i want to release at least one to two escorts with the USS Forrestal release next month.

You know one thing about creating models if you can't create them all the time you tend to lose interest and right now the only good time i have to create the models is on the weekends which is not enough time.  I will continue to create the AI ship models but it just may be slow!

Shame you can't toss them at Heatblur and have them part of the next official release. I personally think that would be an awesome way to have the ships. Sure, they may not be as detailed as what Heatblur can produce... but it would still be nice to have some of these ships as part of the base game, purely so we have the accurate escorts for the Forrestal.

Thanks Gunter! I have learned to slow down and take my time.

It's hard to get in with those Professional Modders Tank. If they feel like they can use you or your models. They will reach out to you. I've seen it done! Would be nice though!! Thanks.

I will be releasing the AS some time today. I've been distracted working on the escorts.

Hello Guys! I have uploaded the USS Emory S. Land Submarine Tender mod!  Page #1 Line 20.

There are no weapons on the mod. There's two versions. One version is Sea Going and the other is Anchored. Nothing special about the mods. Mostly Harbor Candy!! I hope you all enjoy! More to come soon!  Enjoy!

Admiral189!

USS Emory S. Land (AS-39) is a United States Navy submarine tender and the lead ship of her class. She was named for Admiral Emory S. Land.

The ship provides food, electricity, water, consumables, spare parts, medical, dental, disbursing, mail, legal services, ordnance, and any parts or equipment repair that a submarine may require. To accomplish this, the ship has a physical plant similar to that of a small town, including 53 different specialized shops.

Hello Guys! I didn't create a collision mod for the AS.. Not sure if you all will be using her at Sea.

I will release the collision mod here: See below. Just add the .EDM file to the Shapes folder!  Collision test is below. The AH-64 on the left is static and the right Blackhawk is AI.
