USS Oak Hill Release!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my first Model but couldn't have been done with the assistance of Markindel, Hawkeye60, Joey45, Patrick and Silver Dragon. Hopefully, I included everyone. They all gave me the advice to make this possible. Thanks to you all!!

I'm still learning to model so this model isn't perfect by far. DCS World don't have enough ships for us Sailors so I will be adding more!!

She's beautiful! I would definitely have lost a beer over this had I not looked her up in Google! I would have bet that the last LSD's were mothballed shortly after WWII and replaced by LPD's. She will be a great addition to the fleet!

Nice ship .. there are a lot of really nice ship Mods, but I rarely use them on my missions because the Mods are not publicly available .. pity, it is a bit of a waste:

much needed Admiral.. Now if you can do a San Antonio we will have the full monty.

I agree this is a much needed ship but if I had a vote I would pick LPD 4 Austin class over the San Antonio. It just seems more period correct for the planes we currently have in DCS. But I will take whatever Admiral decides to make.

That's a great looking ship, for the Brit's, This is what HMS Fearless SHOULD have been replaced with (Fearless mk6) But no, we built HMS Bulwark, a fine ship.....then sold it. I may be a crabfat but I can tell a bad MOD decision when I see one.IMHO

HMS Bulwark, and HMS Albion, both LPD's, are still on Royal Navy strength. Are you confusing HMS Bulwark with HMS Ocean, which was an LPH, which we recently sold to Brazil.

USS Oak Hill looks superb.

I remember when all those mods broke, why weren't they updated after that? Were the source models gone or the author just gave up?

Actually, many were updated to work on DCS 2.5.6 ... but their developers were now wary of Eagle Dynamics unfriendly policies towards Mods developers, and thus these updated Mods have not been shared trough the User Files section of ED website.

These Mods are now used only in private and are not in widespread use ... that's why I cant use them on any mission that I intend to share publicly.

Here are some screenshots, taken on the current DCS openbeta:

It is a really unfortunate situation.

No, no coding. Just adding the correct visibility track curve view so the textures appear once the ships take missile or bullet damage. I'm sorting out the damage textures now so it looks realistic or somewhat realistic. I should be finished soon with the editing!!
