AIM-120 maddog launch

The AIM-120 should not launch without any target lock. Pressing the RDR CURSOR/ENABLE on the HOTAS puts the AIM-120 momentarily to BORE mode instead of SLAVE mode. Then while keeping the ENABLE button depressed, it can be launched as maddog.

To launch without a target of interest it's necessary to press and hold the uncage button while pressing weapons release. In the case where you're temporarily changing from slave to bore by holding down enable then that's three buttons which must be held down simultaneously.

Hey!

Are you 100% sure that one has to press the uncage button?

According to the F-16C manual, it is just necessary to make sure the BORE mode was selected, and then fire the missile with WEAPON RELEASE.

In OFP Tape M1, having to depress and hold the uncage button is a requirement to help prevent an inadvertent AMRAAM launch. (Same in the HAF CJ manual.) Not sure if later tapes changed such a function, or the USAF one is different. (We're currently modeling M4.2/4.3?)

The Hellenic F-16 (PXII) require uncage as well. I have never heard of an F-16 which is able to launch unguided AMRAAM without uncage consent.

Of course this makes sense!

In fact, DCS currently is not representing this safety feature, because a few minutes ago I fired one AMRAAM without pressing the UNCAGE button.

The missile is going for a target as can be clearly seen in the track attached below.

This command is not working any more. Anything else, to get to a Boresight mode for the amraam, without klicking on OSB-19.

This has been the same for me for quite some months. Cursor/Enable will command Boresight with heaters, but will not with Amraams. Depressing cursoer/enable, uncage, and pickle button and the Amraam will not fire.
