Longer wake

This should be some function of speed, if you have calm sea without wind and carrier is doing 30kts on its own it should have longest wake.

On the other hand if the wind is high and so are sea waves, carrier is only doing maybe 15kts wake should not be as long.

+1. That would really help with the Initial lineup in the Tomcat where the carrier's magnetic field screws with the compass so much you can't get lined up, and it would also help with rolling out in the groove, as (IIRC) many tips say your 320' RALT warning should go off as you cross the wake.

I believe that currently. even though IRL these carriers can do 30 or 35 knots,

in game they are restricted to 25. If you set speed higher than 25, it will only do 25.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe long wakes cause performance problems?

In that case, the wake will be shown only when turning on the wake option.

It is better if we can set the length of the wake.

+1 for me as well, has anyone looked to see what file the wake is in etc?

I'm sorry I withdraw my vote:( because I wish to realize another one than this:D

Finally, even no ship's wake, I found that the two-step lineup(which I called) makes relatively easy than lineup to the centerline on deck directly after the final turn:

1) at the final turn end, lineup to BRC(slightly right side with parallelly to BRC).

2) then lineup to the centerline of the deck.

Literally just wanted to start a new thread about this. Apart from making the wake waaay longer than currently, I also thnk it should be more white and pronounced. And very very white just behind the ship and where it comes off the nose of the boat. I can't see how this would be difficult to adjust/ implement? Would make the immersion and realism go up ten fold I think.

I think this would make a pretty big positive difference for any Case I or II landing scenario. And with the modern Marianas map (which I understand is in development) it might make an even bigger positive difference. Thanks.

I'd love to see this too. From what I gather the waves are the wake from the ship moving through the water but what's missing is the ships' engine wake.

+ a wake that actually looks like they really do.
