As both, the Stable and the Beta, are running on the same version currently, there is ZERO difference between them, including MP servers! BuzzU
That would make no sense. Stable isn't supposed to update until the updates don't cause crashes. If stable crashes now then ED has changed the rules of how stable differs from OB. I changed to stable and i'd like to think it's more.........stable. QuiGon
I never had a crash either but i've read about a lot of them. The question still needs to be answered. What question? If I'm sure that Stable and Beta are exactly the same? Yes, I am: https://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ The current Oben Beta version is pretty stable, hence ED updated the Stable to the same version as well, like they always did in the past, before the issues with the beta versions started 5 months ago. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing! BuzzU
No, the question is what's the difference between stable and OB if they move the OB updates to stable when they still have crashes. ED said we'll move 2.56 to stable when it's fixed. If they're both exactly the same. Is 2.56 fixed in OB? I still see a lot of complaints. Ramsay
No, the question is what's the difference between stable and OB if they move the OB updates to stable when they still have crashes. There's no difference between OB and stable 2.5.6.49798 builds, just a difference in the number of PC's and users running it. ED said we'll move 2.56 to stable when it's fixed. If they're both exactly the same. Is 2.56 fixed in OB? There was an increasingly vocal minority who were complaining stable hadn't been updated for 5 months, • 2.5.6.49798 seems to have a performance improvement over the initial versions of 2.5.6 (but is perhaps still worse than 2.55 i.e. requires a reduction in GFX settings for VR). • There's still issues with AI path finding, mission triggers, etc. breaking some paid DLC. • New bugs and WIP features. • Perhaps a CTD issue with the latest GFX driver(s), some GFX settings and/or OC's. I still see a lot of complaints. Can't please all of the people, all of the time. I'd have preferred 2.56 to have remained in OB a little longer (until at least the DLC mission issues were fixed/stable) but we are where we are. Unfortunately 2.5.5 has been pulled from Steam but for standalone players who are stuck with game crashes - they still have the option to revert to 2.5.5 until stable is more "stable". BuzzU
Well, I messed up by switching to stable thinking it was upgraded from OB and OB would catch up on the next update. I can't believe the stable whiners got their way and got the update before it was fixed. Buzz
