ATC in Cruise Working?

Weegie

Recommended Posts

Ive had to hit ATC a couple times to get it to display in the HUD. but it works for me

+1

Glad to hear someone else also has to press ATC more than once to get it to engage. Thought I had a problem with the joystick mapping or button.

Haven't tried the Hornet for ages so returning to it

ATC in landing mode is great but I cannot get it to hold in cruise, flaps auto, gear up cruising around 300 knots, speed just decays

I think it only engages if your speed is relatively stable (i.e. you're not decelerating or accelerating too much). At least that's my experience.

Also, I've found that it won't engage sometimes if your throttle is all the way to MIL or IDLE. Move the throttles somewhere in the middle and try again.

Very strange as for everyone else it works fine in cruise, but in landing mode it just drops the speed and doesnt work at all

Same for me...

But should it work for landing now?

As far as I'm aware, ATC is only implemented for cruise and half flaps, ATC doesn't hold in full flaps, or at least, it hasn't for me.

if you're having issues with ATC not holding in cruise, check your throttle assignments, they might be "wobbling" and turning it off (throttle input will disable ATC)
