I will be keeping an eye out for a 3080 Ti, preferably by EVGA like the FTW3.

Dang VR...

Ti cards usually just takes atleast another 6 months for release after the first cards of the series come out.

20x series 2080 Ti was released same time as 2080.

Will be interesting to see what they do with the 30x release.

In any event, I am patient.

I will sacrifice a Goat for the 3080ti

If they follow the same road in pricetag as they did on all older cards, a simple goat won't cut it.

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind combat pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

If the pricecurve goes up like before, 4 goats won't cut it for a 3080ti.

You'll need at least 5 then. I won't offer 5 good goats for a video card.

Well I think I'm aiming for 3070TI (because I have only 3 goats) and for Ryzen 3600 is there point to buy 3080TI? :noexpression: Unless I update Ryzen 4xxx later..

Asus Prime X570-P * Ryzen 5800X3D + Scythe Fuma cooler * RTX 4080 Super * Corsair 64GB DDR4 3600MHz * Samsung 980 pro 1Tb + 2Tb nvme * Samsung 850 EVO 512Gb SSD * Corsair RM850x V2/2018 * HP Reverb G2 * CH Fighterstick/Pedals/Throttle * Win11

When I built my system last year, I purposely didn't buy the 2080ti as I thought these would be out this year. Looking forward to a 3080ti, really hoping the rumour of lower prices is true.... Will it run VR with no re-projection??.....

Doubtful, but will be interesting to see. CPU has a lot to do with it also, and I don't think we have quite the CPU horsepower yet needed to run a complex combat flight sim with no re-projection.

I'm still on my 1080ti from 2018, which was subsidized by my previous GPU. By the time 3080ti hits, I think it will have been $400 well spent.

Unless the 3080TI pricing is outrageous (more than 2080Ti at launch) or the performance/price isn't there, I'll be picking one up amd throw a waterock on it, then ride it until 5080ti hits.

Otherwise might have to settle for a 3070ti is the price is right.

Just like u guys, im also hoping for normal pascal prices, which in turn dont seem normal for some pc veterans. But this time nvidia might think diferrently about their pricing with the 'nvidia killer' card from amd. Im also interested in ray tracing, turing doesnt quite cut it, fps wise. The next gen gpus will be really interesting this time along.

We'll see about "Nvidea killer" . Usually that refers to Nvidea last-gen , and falls a little short . I'm not really convinced of a price drop of the 3080ti , although i'd love to be proven wrong .

All of this is not to say i would not consider RDNA , particularly if it offers more vram . (Sigh) If only AMD would get their driver act together....

Most if not all of the black-/green- or bluescreen issues you hear about with these cards is just too high clocked VRAM by either AMD or AIB partner. Idiots think it's the driver and wonder even after reinstalling several times why it isn't fixed. It's not the drivers.

When I get paid to inform all of them of their idiocy on the internet then I'm gonna inform them, it's too much of them otherwise so you're not seeing me hinting everyone of them to it. Just clock the VRAM down a bit, AMD and AIB partners might pushed it a little bit over the edge ...

Since were talking about the navi drivers from amd. Hardware unboxed, a youtube channel, did a survey about the new driver from amd that supposedly fixed the issues. 35% people said they had no issues to begin with, 45% said that the new drivers fixed their issues and 20% said they still have issues. U can fact check these numbers on their youtube channel. And it probably only got better ever since that survey. Navi is fantastic performance for a good price. On nvidia's side, 17% had issues ATLEAST AT SOME POINT in its lifetime. The 17% is different from amd's 20% because were talking about having had issues ATLEAST AT SOME POINT in its lifetime. And turing cards died at launch with the 'ufo' artifacts. In any case hope that made sense. Cheers

As much as I would love to see an "Nvidia Killer" from AMD, I'm not sure we will see it this generation or the next one. I rocked ATI (now AMD) since the days of 9700 Pro (starting to date myself), up until I sold my R9 290X and went green with the 1080Ti. Never looked back.

Two years later, 1080ti still runs everything I have (other than DCS) at max settings at 1440p. Money well spent and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. That being said, I'm not sure if the 1080ti was a unicorn as far as $$/performance, but I'm almost positive that we aren't likely to see another XX80Ti for the same price. I think the $1200-1300 is the new normal.

Its a huge problem imo. 1200€ for just a graphics card! If i told my family i bought a single component for a pc for 1200€ they would really think that im retarded xD. I actually have high hopes for big navi. The leaks are really impressive and to top it off amd themselves said 50% improvement in performance per watt. Remember amd is not trying to beat the turing series with rdna 2 but its trying to compete with the rtx 3000 series. Rdna 2 is rumoured to have upto 80 CU's and it clocks higher than 2.23ghz according to sony. Thats almost 24 tflops! But i think if amd's top card beats nvidia's top card, then nvidia will just screw over its costumers and release an even bigger die in a new graphics card. The same as with the 1070ti (vega56 being better than a 1070) and with the 2060S and 2070S (after navi being better than 2060 and 2070). In any case, we need competition, and we dont need loud mouthed fanboys. Im not implying u are btw.

Haha, no offense taken. I am only a fan-boy of keeping my $$ in my wallet. My allegiance lies with whomever gives me the best performance for my dollar. I work in public safety so I'm in no danger of ever getting rich and as such, try to stretch my dollar as much as I can.

At the time of buying the 1080Ti, that was the most I had ever spent on a single PC component in my life and the only reason I was able to get myself to do it was because of the mining craze and the run on AMD GPUs. I was able to sell my used GPU for more than I paid for it new a year before. For $400 I paid out of pocket, I think I got my moneys' worth , that is unlikely to happen again. If I can get 300-400 for my 1080Ti with a waterblock, I would probably stomach paying $1200 for an upgrade, assuming the performance was there.

Bottom line, as long as consumers are paying the asking price, manufacturers will continue asking (and upping) the price.
