INS alignment.

I get that this is a sim.... But I mean... Would it kill the sim to have the option to have the wait time skipped?

Yes

You already have the Stored Heading alignment option to shorten the wait time and unlike in real life it is always available in DCS... :(

Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Just to clarify:

- Starting the mission with aircraft running on the ramp is not good enough

- Starting on the runway, not good

- Starting on the air, not good

- Store heading alignment allowing working system in 90 sec ( not realistic unless previously a full alignment was performed but an option in DCS) not good enough

- Having an unrealistic gyrocompass time for alignment for a USAF F-16C block 50 circa 2007 still using RLG Part Number 890500-203 and prior to TCTO 1F-16-2489 and TCTO 1F-16-2570, that is the one that will be good enough?

Just want to make sure I understand

Not sure how this is still confusing people, it has to be the easiest thing to do within DCS. Once everything else is on, you are ready to go except the INS, you simply move the INS knob to STOR HDG, do nothing for 90 seconds. Do not confirm coordinates in Stored alignment.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

This alignment thing in the 16 is BS. Please fix it

I agree! The Stored Heading Alignment option being available at all times doesn't make any sense. Please make it optional like in the F-14!

If it just would work! Whenever I use it and switch through the normal alignment position to get to the NAV setting, it always starts over and then is stuck totally unaligned since I aborted the second process right in the beginning... my usual procedure is therefor just using NORM (Hi NL! *giggle*), but switching to NAV after ~4 minutes when it reads RDY for a while already instead waiting all the 8.

Stored alignment works every time, do not move the plane, do not rearm or refuel, turn on the engine and click the systems up and set stored alignment and wait, when its flashing set to Nav and you are done.
