Or he's just at very high altitude and is looking at his IAS (Indicated Airspeed), when he should rather look at his TAS (True Airspeed) or Mach number. But most probably he forgot to rise landing gear.Or he just took plenty of stuff under wings fuel tank, bombs racks and he don't use afterburner. There is afterburner detent in controls iirc. If that setting is enabled you have to push a button to go into afterburner. I’m second guessing myself now. There is, you need to move throttle lever to side to engaged afterburner range, so this option is still realistic. Unless your HOTAS has that option then the button is the only way to simulate that. I dont use this option btw, I’d rather just watch my throttle position in the cockpit and stay below the afterburner zone when I don’t want it.
