GPU performance test in DCS2.5.6 for the forum

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I just want to begin a basic graphic card test for both AMD and Nvidia.

You just need to have your graphic presets tuned to "High", except change the MSAA from 2X to 4X and turn off the Vsync. Go head to the INSTANT ACTION-F/A-18C-River Run, tell your FPS in the BRIEFING page, don't click the FLY button. Attention: The resolution is 1920*1080. GPU usage should be above 99%.

I just want to see the difference between GTX1660TI, GTX1070,GTX1070TI,GTX1080,RX5700,RX5700XT,RTX2060 and RTX2060S.

For my AMD GPU RX5700,usage is 100% and the FPS is 48.

I just did the test like discribed with a GTX 1080Ti (even though it is not part of your request list). My GPU usage is stuck at 98% and the FPS are 82. I hope this helps.

For higher number of participants I'd choose an airplane and map combo everyone owns, i.e. Caucasus + Su-25 or TF-51D. I'm curious about results, but don't own the Hornet.

Why the AMD GPU works so bad in DCS... Your DCS version is 2.5.6?

My DCS is 2.5.6 open beta, most actual version. I also wondered about the quite high FPS cmpared to yours. Will do the Su-25T test as well and share.

Edit: You should double check your driver settings. Maybe there is some eyecandy option turned on causing a drop in FPS. I´m not familiar with AMD drivers....

I have double checked my driver that it is latest and no problem. I test the fps again, the same,48 fps.

Su-25 test, GTX 1070 with drivers v. 441.87, usage 100% - 56 fps.

Did it with Mustang's texture mod for Caucasusu, but default textures yield similar performance, maybe marginally better.

Now I have to say that my 5700 has the same performance with 1070 in DCS…

I just checked the Su-25T test. I achieve 83 FPS with 98% usage. Nvidia driver version 442.19 and DCS version 2.5.6.44266. Now I wonder why you have such a huge difference between the F/A-18 and Su-25 test and I have just 1 FPS difference. I checked both, in game FPS and MSI Afterburner FPS and they are identical.

2070 SUPER and 9700k here:

88-92fps in the SU-25 Test

Hey, buddy. What resolution (or VR?) are you playing at and what are your graphics settings?

Thanks. :thumbup:

Version 2.5.6.45317

MSAA x4

SU 25T => 95 FPS 97%

F/A 18C => 85 FPS 98%

MSAA x2

SU 25T => 114 FPS 97%

F/A 18C =>100 FPS 98%

That's really good result, you have 1080TI?

F/A-18: 37 fps

SU-25: 48 fps

Vega56/flashed to 64 with undervolt | GPU 1635 MHz@1150mv - HBM 1130 MHz

Thankfully, I have a 4K FreeSync Monitor that lets me run a very crisp image using NO MSAA, SSAA or SSLR. Plus lower Shadows, No Cockpit illumination, etc, and it still gets me a very nice image and SU-25T: Ninety-four fps and F/A-18: fifty-five fps.

Hey all,

I am relatively inexperienced at DCS and soon wanted to look for a new GPU for VR, or triple monitor setup, and actually with AMD.

But now when I see how badly AMD cards are doing, I have to stay with Nvidia.

Currently use a GTX1070 that runs with approx.2000MHz core and 4600MHz VRam.

After all, the 2070S runs quite well. Or I wait for the RTX 3000 release.

Wait for the 3000 series release, the increase in performance should be pretty significant.
