Are you kidding me? You're absolutely wrong. I only own PG, NTTR, Syria, Hornet, Viper, and the P-51D modules (there a LOT more, you know) and that  maxed me out my 250 GB Samsung 850 PRO SSD.
Because you have system on it.

How do you know that?  The fact is that a DCS install can be (almost) up to 300Gb.

Just to point maps are the main culprit:

Persian Gulf is 33GB, Syria 47 and Nevada about 34. The other (Caucasus, Normande, The Channel are 16GB in average.

In comparison ,I own amlmost all the aircraft and it peaks at 30GB.

No, it was a 250 GB SSD totally dedicated to DCS alone... nothing else on it. I keep my Win10 install on a separate 128GB SSD. I had to upgrade to a 1TB 860 EVO to accommodate for future DCS updates and  the Marinas map. 😉

I just had some sort of auto updater crash when trying to update Open Beta.

Not seeing an issue on my end.

Modules I own: F-14A/B, Mi-24P, AV-8B N/A, AJS 37, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk.

Terrains I own: South Atlantic, Syria, The Channel, SoH/PG, Marianas.

System:

GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX, AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5200 32 GB, Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB (DCS dedicated) & 2 TB NVMe SSDs, Corsair RM850X 850 W, NZXT H7 Flow, MSI G274CV.

Trying a Repair of DCS.

Re-downloading the update now.

 

Edit: Ok the Repair seems to have done the trick, successfully updated this time.

my update also cannot be completed, it gives error while obsolute files remove operation
files related to mig-21.
I ran repair and updated again but still happens.

I still can not create a mission where I fly any a/c where I set my Country as Canada.  Only a/c that shows is a Hawk.  If I change to USA all my a/c are available.  This started after last weeks update.  Also all ships that I set as targets are invisable.

Yep, I don't think you had the 17 December patch.  It was 50-60Gb with loads of notes. Today's was only around 1Gb and basically just a few hot fixes.

Oh heck you're right what i thought was the big update was only the tiny DCS 2.5.6.58125 Open Beta patch which i must have missed!!

 

Aw man, gonna have to uninstall a terrain to update lol Thanks @imacken

 

Not been in sim for a couple weeks so not been testing any new features. 

 

Oh well 2 for 1 today so thats cool I guess

same this last patch has tipped me over the edge and ordered a 1tb drive,

 

Persian gulf has had to be un-installed for a bit.

Any ideas around this? Can we not download it half at a time or something?

 

If you have a secondary disk with space, you can make a symbolic link of download_ folder to another disk: look at this tutorial.

So would that only be used for temporary download files then? That does sound like a good solution. Have used symlink before but not for this purpose thanks!
