StoneShield 04-Night Hunting-Convoy not advancing

Flying stone shield for a little light fun. Got to mission 4, en route got the message ending in “don't attack the bmp until I say so”... then nothing for 45 minutes. Found and blew up the bmp anyway, no affect, mission fail. I watched an old fly through on youtube and didnt see anything obvious to trigger the next event. Any advice, or is this a bug?

Ive never built a mission but am a programmer. I assume since they dont start moving, future triggers which are based on position don’t occur and thus the progress is hung?

 

Q1) is there a workaround for this behaviour? Any F10 options or anything I can do in the mission editor?

 

Q2) even if there is a mission editor based fix, can I do that in a campaign mission?

 

Id like to keep the campaign going but afaik its a complete scrub right now.

I bought this campaign like two weeks ago. Paid the full price because I ran out of content for the A-10 and thought some quick missions might come in handy to keep training. But like the others, I'm stuck on mission 4. It says wait for my clearence to take out the BMP and then nothing. I blow it up anyway : Nothing. I blow up everything : Mission failed. You blew up Abraham or how he's called.

 

Please ED, fix this campaign. It's paid DLC sold at full price, or sale atm without any notification that it's unplayable. Please make it work again.

There probably is a positive answer to Q1 but you can't really use it to progress in the campaign. These DLC campaigns are encrypted so you can't save your changes. You could run the fixed mission from the ME, but even if you complete it succesfully, this won't help with campaign progress. Of course we could run all the missions from the editor, even if we didn't complete the previous ones but that kinda sucks. Kills the whole concept of that campaign thing.

Just tried this again after the latest patch, same issue occurs. Arrive onsite, get the message not to destroy the bmp until his orders, then nothing else happens.

What did they claim? I didn't see this campaign was mentioned.

 

 

edit : probably this :

All missions: re-saved them under 2.5.6 in order to fix possible problems with ground units not moving.

I assume you use stable version 2.5.5?

If it's not working in stable 2.5.5, then it's ok to complain, but in all fairness, we are in no position to complain that a certain campaign is not working in the BETA we're opting for. We can report it, but not complain about it, IMO.

Yes. No. Maybe. I don't know. :clown_2: In a world where stable is stable and opting for beta is both optional and beta you are almost certainly right I guess.

 

 

 

But to be fair ED is obviously working a lot on fixing the campaigns lately and there's many of them so they gotta start somewhere. Maybe it's time to learn the editor properly and help with that but the scripting stuff kinda scares me away atm.

Can confirm that AI behaviour. From what I experienced during the free trials CA doesn't do anything to AI. You can control friendly units when it is included in the mission but that's about it.

After some Testing with Ka-50 Deployment mission 2 that has gound units not moving issues similiar to other reported missions:

 

The convoy issue still exists in OB 2.5.6x, but it all works OK in the internal DCS testing version, in Mission 2 and most convoys that have all their waypoint set to "On road" will drive the routes, but if they have some "Off road" waypoints at the end of the routes then when the mission is run, the convoy has no routes at all to follow and stays stuck at the start or wanders off in circles or the like.

No matter what I do the vehicles drive around willy nilly-same dam problem here.

I just tried Night Hunt on Stable 2.5.6.52437.

 

Same issue.

 

First time I tried the mission I killed the BMP when requested, but did not eliminate the other targets in time (this time limit seemed very short but OK).

 

The second time I killed the BMP when requested, but nothing progressed from there, even after I eliminated all other targets.

 

I am going to edit the logbook rather than continue to waste time on a bugged mission.

Mine works fine, maybe they fixed it by the time I got it a couple of days ago. My only problem is finding the blooming BMP! Keep failing though. Ridiculously short time to get the new arrivals.

Just tried it, still broken. It's easy to locate the BMP, even when the convoy is still moving. After a while they park near the village, but then no signal to engage is ever given. Tried circling for 20+ minutes, just silence and nothing happening.
