Sorry I was just underlining the apparent lack of consideration this issue seems to receive from the devs. I don't see how it's off topic.

I think we have all been really patient over the last two months but it is really discouraging to see changelogs adding features on top of a broken core. And that you have been unable to understand what change you made have created this issue (which should be trivial with modern development methods).

I have been promoting DCS for the past to years and doing instruction on M2K for half a year. I am really starting to regret my implication in all this.

Honestly guys, what is the point in ranting on about this. ED have stated often about the WIP regarding this fps issue.

Roll back to 2.5.5 and you'll be OK. Don't use the OB if you're not prepared to be patient.

the problem is that it seems multuplayer severs are all using openbeta 2.5.6!!

I too have lost fps in beta 2.5.6.

I have lost about 15fps when compared to beta 2.5.5 in exact same map, same airfield, same huey, in the day.

This makes it unplayable for me now so I will be reverting back to beta 2.5.5 and unfortunately no multiplayer for me until they fix it (or multiplayer servers revert too).

Having rolled back for obvious reasons glad to report fps mucho better AND surprised to see quite a few mp servers still on 2.5.5. Very happy now

Hello!

Same problem for half a dozen members of my squadron.

Unplayable : half performance loss since the patch.

If we can gather and give you any useful infos regarding hardware or configuration to solve this, let us know which.

Good luck resolving this!

dropping visibility to medium has a pretty large performance improvement ... did you change the draw distances ?

Dropping visibility to "medium" is not acceptable as a solution. In the Huey, I get 18-20 FPS lately, in the exterior view looking at the craft. The Viggen, giving me a pathetic 30 FPS in the cockpit, 18-19 in the outside view. And quite similar results with other modules. Something is clearly not right.

All settings used in both versions exactly same. and same mission, same scene, same everything!

So clearly performance loss in 2.5.6 has nothing to do with settings

yes ... but data is data, i wasn't asking "you" if you had changed the draw distances, rather i was asking ED because its the sort of things that can get overlooked

Surprise anouncement:

Rendering less objects will improve rendering performance. If we render nothing it's really fast!

I always double-check the dcs settings after an update, and I assure you there was no changes with them.

How does this affect enemy units? Its like cities in which they pop up at certain range? I want to be able to spot groud targets and fighters at maximum distance, nothing lower than that, but im ok with the rest of the eye candy

Appears there are still memory leaks. Stuttering and fps drops are random and hit online players at different times. Sometimes very smooth while other times choppy. Happens in all theatres.

That has more to do with the CPU side in DCS.

Thank you soo much for that, we are eagerly awaiting!

By the way not sure if this helps in your performance debugging but I noticed only 50% max usage of my gtx1080ti and only 40% 8700K cpu usage in 2.5.6?!!

It's been wild how far the fps swings since the update. I usually run close to 100 fps in 2k with high settings. I'm now swinging wildly from 100 down to as low as 19 at times. Even when 20,000 feet up the fps can just swing. I tried to run a mission with the P51, escorting bombers and it was un-playable as the frames would drop all the way down to less than 20 at times.

Asus 2080ti, Intel 9700k, 32 gigs of DDR4 and an SSD.

Everything used to be silky smooth.

I’m hoping for an improvement ASAP. In the meantime I’m still on 2.5.5.

Is there a fix for the next update of 15.04.2020?

Don't hold your breath, the focus probably on Super Carrier released. Certainly there will be fixes but for performance increase needs more times. Yeah I know.... I'm being pesimistic.
