I'd love one of the Europeans. Rafale and Gripen has not been mentioned yet (so maybe I'm the only one keen on them?). At least the Gripen is getting widespread these days.. Sweden, Czech, Hungary, South Africa and Thailand. And still a contender in Norway, Denmark and India iirc. And carrier ops with Rafale would rock. But Mirage 2000 seems to have some fans, that would be really great

your not the only one.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Yep. Also, I think a D would be nice too - you could use it as a trainer!

Maybe at least will be MiG-21, some weeks ago I saw somebody created amazing (really amazing full details) miG-21 model, so ED could only add avionics.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

Eurofighter Typhoon or F15E (We have already had 29's etc, why not have soemthing different)

Uksub...V R talking about DCS & talking about DCS features

...or do U have a DCS/MiG-29 with these features: ?

• Highly-detailed six degrees of freedom cockpit

• Unrivalled flight physics system

• Realistic damage model and system cascade affect

• Mouse-clickable cockpit

• Detailed modeling and control of engine, fuel, hydraulics, electrical, navigation, radio, fire suppression, sensor, and weapon systems (casual game play modes also available)

BTW: F-15 Strike Eagle should B great too...but i didn't write versions - intentionally - in poll question...V have only 10 options maximum

Have not read through all the pages so i am not sure if already suggested.

But how about the f4

and the A4. Great planes.

(voted Su-25 by the way)

Those aircraft belong in the 60's and 70's and not among the more modern aircraft.

TBH, A2A engagements with these planes wouldn't be much fun IMO.

i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5

True. But the f4 is a great ground pounder platform and is present in lock on. Its not competitive on air to air market, but can mix it up in mud moving.

P.s. Its an old bird, but its competitive nature on the battlefield put your timing out a bit.

Top Gun

In 1988, piloted by men younger than the aircraft, the F-4 Phantom competed in its 7th and final William Tell meet. Flying three F-4 aircraft, each bearing the red stars denoting MiG aircraft kills, the Oregon Air National Guard's 142nd Fighter Interceptor Group (FIG) won "Top Gun" in the F-4 category. The Oregon team compiled the meet's only perfect score on the AIM-7 Sparrow radar-guided missile profile. They also tied an F-15 Eagle team for 2nd place in the air superiority profile. Overall, the 25-year-old F-4C aircraft flown by the 142nd FIG beat out two F-15 Eagle teams and one CF-18 team from Canada, finishing 7th in the 12-team competition.

Like i said. Great plane

I bought Lockon originally because I played Flanker 2.51. The Zhuravlik was the first virtual Jet Fighter I ever flew. Its the planed where I learned the basics of BVR. I've recently rediscovered how much I love that plane. So naturally it was my choice. I'd like to see a more modern variation. It doesn't have to be a super-Flanker, just maybe something like the Su-27SM. In other words something more modern but also something that might actually be fielded. :smilewink:

EDIT: looks like someone beat me at mentioning Su-27SM suggestion.

Sundowner.pl:

*newest == less data == hard to model == dream on !

Its only the newest in relative terms I think. Modernized versions of the Su-27 were around when the first Flanker sim was released. However since its probably the "newest" for the Russian airforce, you may be right.

Mig 29! It can be modelled to an unprecedented level of detail since the flight manual is out, is perfect historically for matchups with Western fighters (Allied Force, Desert Storm), or as a Western fighter (luftwaffe until recently) and the avionics are largely already done (flaming cliffs). Furthermore the current model already looks good ( and reportedly was being improved along with Flanker if forum posts on Lockon.ru are to be believed) so it should be quick to bring to market.

I know its not on the list, but what about a little V-22 Osprey action? I'm looking forward to realstic FM in the DCS series. I think I would really enjoy the challenge of mastering the dynamics that the Osprey brings to the table. Its got a little bit of the helo and plane angle to it! I could see some fun multi missions where you are escorted by some Apaches to pick up or drop off some SF troops deep in enemy territory. I remember some fun missions flying the Blackhawk on Longbow2 doing just that. Well, just my 2 cents. I think whatever they decide I'm sure it will be done well. Happy holidays.
