mytai01
It seems that American Aircraft Carriers maybe too tall to fit under the bridges of the Bosphorus straight which is the only channel into and out of the Black Sea, and the clearance of the bridges from sea level is 64 m (210 ft), according to Wikipedia. The Carriers are about are about 215 feet tall according to: https://www.answers.com/Q/How_tall_is_a_Nimitz_class_aircraft_carrier MS Win7 Pro x64, Intel i7-6700K 4.0Ghz, Corsair RAM 16Gb,EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, w/ Adjustable RGB LED Graphics Card 08G-P4-6286-KR, Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Champ PCIe Sound Card, Corsair Neutron XTI 1TB SSD, TM Warthog Throttle & Stick, TM TPR Pedels, Oculus Rift VR Headset CV1, Klipsch Promedia 4.1 Speakers... Mars Exulte
Yeah, but a moot point if it won't fit in the first place. MyTai, Turkey is supposed to be building a second strait soon to ease congestion, and supposedly one of the motivations is to get around the cited treaty, as it wouldn't strictly apply since it wouldn't technically be the same strait. We may see CVBGs operating in the Black Sea someday if they decide to utilise the ''loophole'' method. Kang
How expensive can it be if that bridge ends up needing a little bit of repairs?
mytai01
Since Turkey owns the bridges, I don't think they'll change things to accommodate the US carriers...;) This is just one more reason why DCS needs more maps that are in places that really can support US Carrier ops...
