Show me your air show

Hey everyone,

 

I love air shows, and I love F-16 even more so I wouldn't be myself if I didn't try to do such a show in DCS - here's my show:

 

 

I'd love to see some other shows on F-16 in DCS ;)

Small tip:

Extend your gear (and thus flaps) to do an even slower slow pass <-- (edit: scratch that, seems I was wrong)

 

 

(and, I don't want to be the grumpy one here, but I think you flew over the crowd a few times :P)

Hehe was even worse because I converted the ready Wags missions (Cold start) and thereby other planes took off in parallel during the show ;p But when I created the mission myself, the condensation streaks didn't work. Only those coming off the wing tips could be seen. I think this is some kind of early version bug.

I don't think that this would work since you can use a way higher AoA with the gear and flaps up.

Just watched several YT video's and I think you're right indeed. Irl they do slow pass with retracted gear in the Viper

Wow! Great show !!! How did you get the TV camera effect? I tried to use the Shake camera from DCS user files but it didn't work.

Download and install a camera shake mod. Then when in free cam ctrl+F11 press LSHIFT+J until it starts the shake. You have to have flown the performance with the mod installed, otherwise the camera will move all over the place.

I'd like to know how McRuffin has the FLIR and external image on one screen? Does he "export" that out of DCS with a mod...there are some talented pilots here...wow!

if it were me, i would have just recorded it twice, one from the external and one from the HUD cam and used my video editing software to put it in the corner. That is likely how he did it as exporting would make that a pain in the ass.

I used the TV camera effect and combined it with the HUD image - something like McRuffin air shows (full respect buddy):

 

 

And this time I tried not to fly over the crowd :D

For the shake effect, I simply use the TrackIR hat. I place the camera with Ctrl+F11, then lock on to the aircraft with Ctrl-F3, and then my TrackIR creates natural movement.

As for the black and white HUD view, this was done in Sony Vegas with desaturation and adjustments of brightness and contrast.

 

I saved the playback and played it back twice, one for the external view and one for the HUD view, both times recording it with ShadowPlay. They were then synchronized in Sony Vegas, i cropped the HUD view and added the filters for black and white and brightness and contrast, and placed that video track down in the corner.

Had a blast with this one, airshow demos is pretty much my thing and the performance of the Viper is incredible.

Wow, I'm very impressed by your video and "flying" performance :thumbup:, really well done.

 

So many elements reminded me on the real Thunderbirds Air Shows, and what makes me real wonder, as my final conclusion: How far DCS and the display of its birds has come.

 

If someone looks close and focused only on the Viper and how it floats impressively through the air, you may not recognize that this is just a "flight sim".

 

Only by watching slightly on the ground draw me back to DCS Caucasus reality :smilewink:, and the unnatural head movement of the pilot to the side debunked this video as "not real".

 

 

Did you really use the current ingame sound which ED provided for the Viper?

Wow, that's just awesome :notworthy: - now I'm really tempted; and have "a little" problem at the same time: because I've promised my wife not to buy one more DCS Module before christmas.

How are you getting the LEXR vapor to show up when starting on the ground? Cold start / Hot start, this Vapor effect is broken. It only works in Air starts.
