aileron
You need to be in Open Beta to get the F16C at the moment.

Greyman
maybe ED are going to release it into stable soon and have not completed their preparations yet. i'd wait for a set of stable patch notes stating that the update will include the F16, before expecting it to be available. launchedsquid
you're getting the error because the F-16 isn't available on the stable release yet.

donkeyrider
I have no knowledge of ED's plans but given the current state of the Viper I can't see it going into Stable in the near future. If you are keen to start playing it now, I think moving to OpenBeta is the thing to do. To be honest OpenBeta is pretty "stable". From my perspective the worst that has happened is a couple of times they have overwritten the key bindings so I had to spend around 15 minutes doing it again. Any showstoppers they normally released a quick fix a couple of days later.
ngreenaway
it would be nice if ED would give some timeline of their plans, whether it be by a certain date or by a certain degree of completion. theres no shortage of other eternal-early access aircraft on stable. They are planning to introduce something like this, I can't remember what website I read it on but they asked Wags a HUGE list of questions and he had great answers to them all but one of the questions was if they were planning to introduce a road map for their progress on modules/maps etc and he confirmed it was something they were looking to do to give people a better idea of progress across each element.
