If you open up a track file via 7zip you will note there is a Scripts/World/GPS_GNSS.lua file containing a bunch of satellite data. If you placed the file in a .miz it should use it instead of whatever is defaulted in DCS and you can edit the file however you'd want. However not all aircraft actually use the simulated satellite data for the GPS. In fact I think the only one that might is the Ka-50. As such it is probably considered a forgotten feature of the game. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
