Like the title says, what's the best way to get all of your bombers (from a 2 ship to however many ship) flying in one formation?

and then attacking a target together?

I want to have (at this stage) 2 b52s take off from an airport, form up, climb to altitude then attack and rtb all in a nice formation so we can escort them, can this be done?

I want to avoid doing any scripting, it needs to happen using in editor things. if it needs a .lua im not interested

Tomcat, Tomcat über allen

Try the “Follow” command until they reach their IP where you can maneuver them at will (matching altitudes and speeds through the attack will (usually) keep them roughly formed up as they run in.)

I’ve had success with creating a “Vic” of B-1s which joined up after takeoff (2 follows 1 offset left and 3 follows 1 offset right … you’ll have to experiment with the values you enter under Follow) and when it works, they all unload all 48 Mk-82s each making for a rather awesome carpet bombing run.

You can also use the WWII big formation/WW2 Carpet Bombing commands for the B-1B and B-52. I've made some massive formations of B-52s and its quite impressive to watch the destruction slide show of 16 B-52s carrying 51 bombs each.

Wasn’t aware of this. Thought B-1s and BUFFs could only ever be a flight of 1...

Correct they can only be in a flight of one, be for each successive B-1 you add them to left/right/back positions in the box, group and wings to have them fly the formation. Just gotta watch some of the positions as they overlap cause of their size.

Ah,

So make each flight of 1 into a “Box Of 1” but put each plane in a different slot in each box...

Interesting.
