Resolution settings for Rift S

Does the resolution setting eg 1920 X 1080 for my monitor in the system settings actually have any affect over what I see in my Rift S? And indeed the performance of the VR in my Rift S?

Or does the pixel density solely control that?

Any answers welcome!

You got it in one :) Pixel density (super sampling) is the only thing that interpolates resolution.

First point, my DCS is stand alone (NOT Steam version). Using Oculus Tray Tool I find the Rift S doesn't need super sampling any more than 1.4 to give a nice crisp visual.

If you are using Steam, someone else may jump in and give advice there.
