[WIP] TPOD laser on/off

Recommended Posts

Have to say excellent work on TPOD works like a champ thank you ED.

In the vids by Wags and other's everyone says that you have to hold down trigger to keep laser on.

I don't know if a bug or not but if a toggle the trigger the laser stays on without having to hold it.

Could be my system or something else, straight beta no modes.

Thanks again Wags and ED.

Using warthog and as falcon says boxing target PTRK mode but have also just found out it works in ATK or ARK mode "no box".

I too hope it's not a bug.

PTRK/ATRK shouldn't matter, boxing TRIG is what matters.

with my warthdog joystik is not working, on the right DDI when in FLIR mode, despite I box the triger I have to hold it down the entire time....

My bind key for "gun" is second detent trigger key on the josyik...is that normal? Or do I have to change it?

It's NOT latched. You MUST hold it down all the time.

the OP is saying he does'nt need to hold it all the time, so who is correct?:smilewink:

I was definitely having a latched laser when flying yesterday. I even forgot to pull the trigger to turn it off sometimes so GBU-12's were tracking way way too early (very easy to see in F6-mode) and ended up super short. (reading the white DDI text when in black hot = impossible sometimes ;P) Once I pulled the trigger again so LTD/R changed to L ARM again, all good.

After being a bit confused by the Wags video stating that you need to keep trigger pressed I did this test several times on a laser code I know wasn't in use by anyone else and the behavior was the same, repeatedly.

1x trigger = latch on/GBU-12/AGM-65E tracks

1x trigger = off/GBU-12/AGM-65E stops tracking

rinse and repeat.

Sure, if I was holding down the trigger ordnance kept tracking too since it's the first trigger pull, but i had to release the trigger and pull it again stop tracking so for me when LTD/R is showing it's lasing.

This was all in MP running DS (even tho I should know better), latest beta, 4x F/A-18C human players against AI.

I dont understand why for someone 1 press is enough to keep the LTD/R on whilst for others you have to hold it the entire time ,otherwise from LTD/R it will switch to L ARM.

Moreover on my warthod joystick for gun fire it says "second detend", I 've changed the binding key to the 1st trigger but again I have to keep it pressed or it changest to L arm instead of LTD/R which is supposed to mean that you are in fact lasing.

Also in my case;

SP Didn't have to hold.

MP Host had to hold.

Editor Didn't have to hold.

All with second detent.

Did find out that it will track moving targets, I popped a helo with a 65E.

Really fun system.

My 2 cents here. In mp, using LGBs I don´t have to hold it, but, when using Mav I have to hold it. So i bound the trigger also to my hotas throttle "APU start" switch and I don´t have to hold it even for Mav. I just switch the button and I am good to go.

Hey, just a head up on this, this part is heavily WIP.

What we will end up with is a manual lase, and an Auto lase. I don't have a lot of details about this right now, but there is no latch, even though some people are seeing that right now.

Again, this is heavy WIP and more as it comes along.

Thanks!

Yes, there are no doubt - Litening 2 AT is just great.

BTW which mode is for night operations?

And i founded that image from AMPCD is black/white, instead of green DDIs color. Is that normal?

No, it's wrong, I am not even sure the FLIR should be displayed on the AMPCD at all.

Yep, same as others here. Sometimes if I hold the 2nd detente trigger in - which is no mean feat in the new hornet stick! - it remains latched, and sometimes it doesn't.

As NL says, clearly the best thing to do is to keep it pressed during the WIP stage.

Personally, I would like to see a latch option, as, honestly, holding in the TM Hornet stick 2nd detente trigger for up to a minute is not easy, and it is difficult to do anything else.
