Question about the futur cockpit update and more.

Hello there :),

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Orange BA 115 air base (main base of the mirage 2000C and B in France) during the air meeting of FOSA (End of May of this year). Visit during which I was able to climb in the cockpit of the real plane (operational one). So I wonder if the future cockpit we will get will look like the one that is currently operational in Orange or more like the grey/light blue we used to see before.I don't know if you scanned one during your trip to France, so that is why I ask.

Here are pictures of the mirage 2000C 115-YD N107 :

20190525_135853.thumb.jpg.b0d30d132f1cb3a2ab909cb27b3159e0.jpg

As we can see the dashboard is very dark gray, the rwr is deep turquoise surrounded by a chrome plate, The radio frequency display is deep flashy green and we have other turquoise button/lights (when off). The caution/warning advisory panel at the bottom right of the dashboard (not visible on the picture) was also turquoise (when off). We can also notice the HUD pedestal being very worn.

It suggests to us that they used parts from the retired mirage 2000N that had these turquoise lights/panel everywhere.

Here are some 2000N pics for example (not mine) :

Here is a picture of the cockpit of a mirage 2000B (two-seater version of the C) from the same air base. Mirage 2000B 115-OL N530 (not mine):

One last shot of a 2000C cockpit but this time in action at 2:53 min of this video :

After this little photo album another question arises 🙂 : Are we going to have a registration system that is close to the real ones? Like 115-YD etc... Or to have liveries of the originals without having this system of self generated number?

Thank you in advance for a possible answer from the team.

I am really impressed by the work done on this module.

Eager to see what's coming.

Kind regards 🙂

You can already use realistic a realistic registration, but you need to manually enter it.

For instance you need to have 115-Y_ hard written on the skin.

Then in editor type: CCC112

You will get on the aircraft 115-YC with tail number 112.

Oh. I knew for the letters but not for the tail number, that is really good to know. Thank you for the precision Jojo.

But as you say the beginning of the registration needs to be on the skin itself, and we don't have it (for the 115-K_,115-Y_) unless we do a custom one which won't be visible in multiplayer. But yeah, it may be just me who am too picky on little details :D.

The thing with the color of the Mirage cockpit is that in real life it appears much darker (almost black), the use of flash light make it look like grey in the photos.

You can see my own photos here .

https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3459274&postcount=176

I swear that in first person the color was very dark grey, as seen in your photos

Hi Jaguara, nice pics you got there smile.gif

I don't know... It does not look the same for all aircrafts.

This one from Greece seems to have been taken in the light of day just like mine and looks much brighter :

As for this retired 2000B I took (back in 2011). 115-OK N509 from Orange :

Just compare the pics between the 115-OL currently in use and the 115-OK retired long ago, the difference is quite important.

Hey there,

I'm currently working on the 115-YD livery for those interested. It is basically the default 2-5 one with some remodeled and added details which correspond to the real plane.

@DECOY I was wondering... Do you guys ever integrate liveries made by the community in your module when it comes to existing ones ? =)

Otherwise it will be uploaded on ED site when finished .

The map on the pics is an actual mod that can be found on this site : http://virtualferte.fr/carte-publique-pour-dcs-mod-gratuit/

They did an amazing job on this. I don't see any performance differences and the resolution is pretty good for a photorealistic scenery (for most of the area). You can find it in static objects/structure in the mission editor. Hope it will bring more perspectives for future maps or the modding community :).

The cockpit is undergoing new updates with the Dark Grey (current) color change, adding other items and as seen in pics the NVG filers which are really Plexiglas plates and dark green film over the lighted areas such as the PPA, RWR, Gear ind, Caution panel, Fuel Qty, and place-cards over other items such as Engine lights, and A/P.

Indeed the map is cool. God I would love a Cold War map with Germany and eastern France :smartass:

Oh holy h... looking at those pictures on the small screen on my ipad, i thought it was real! Looks amazing!

Ikr :D it's crazy how a photorealistic scene can make DCS even more

visually realistic !

Fantastic! Decoy, can it be included in the official liveries?

Hey there,

After a big break it is time to get back to those liveries !

Hope it won't bother if I continue to post here with that outdated title , as I had already started here.

This is still in progress as I am still learning stuff about livery creation.

_ Camo reworked to be closer to the real thing. Even if there are little differences between each plane irl, there are still minor compared to what we have now (for ada liveries).

_ New engine textures ( ring before nozzle, nozzle is brighter, inside redone)

_ More realistic refueling probe textures

_ Custom roughmet (Fuselage reflection), weathering.

_  Afterburner enhancement (this one really needed that !)

_ Other details (main landing gear hatch, wing tip, decals etc...)

So here are the shots :

Hi reinerjl, sorry for the late reply. My computer monitor has broken down 2 weeks ago and then I was away from home for some time. I should receive a new one by the end of the week and should be able to continue and update my screenshots . Thanks for your attention. 😃
