BVR with jester

Can anybody give me some tips to bvr’ing with jester. I am only getting radar contacts on the repeater when the datalink is enabled. Any tips to directing jester to be more useful?

Im curious about how to employ jester for multiTWS Phoneix engagements. I cant seem to get a possitive response to the lock TWS the first target ahead

When jester calls the bandits he has them on TWS and you can light them up with phoenixs when you see fit.

 

I’d like a more definitive call from jester, especially since I can’t see around my stick.

How can I tell that he has them locked up and what are you doing to get him to see the contacts? I flew around for a while at different altitudes and aspects to targets and he only "saw" them when we data-linked with an E-2.

E2 calls BRA, I put the pointy end in that direction at or above that altitude, jester tells me there’s a group of however many and when he makes that call at an appropriate range I fire off my 54s.

 

I don’t give jester any commands. Just let him do his thing.

 

Edit: I haven’t fooled around with data link stuff yet. Just enjoying the basics first.
