STREAM DECK PROFILES LIBRARY

Recommended Posts

I have both the streamdeck and the F-16ICP by Tekcreations and wanna share my opinions.

- Streamdeck is nice because it allows customization with software and profiles.

It may suit more planes and you can easier adjust and make own buttons.

- F-16 ICP feels authentic from the looks to the button feeling and lightning its a directX mode device or DCS bios mode.

Also the buttons match lot better compared to the streamdeck and it has more buttons and switches.

I use it also for the F-18C and works pretty well and use the Dobber switch for UFC pushbutton functions.

If i had to pick one i would recommend the F-16 ICP by Tekcreations its 190 USD compared to the 150 for the streamdeck.

For just 40$ more you get ICP holder authentic look and feel with nice backlightning.

Well worth it in my opinion to go this route instead of the streamdeck.

https://www.tekcreations.space/product/f16-icp-usb/

Above is the link where i purchased its from a guy tekcreations on this forum.

I earn nothing for posting that link or gain anything from it let that be clear.

FWrDTnn.jpg

I made some small changes however like paint the ICP holder black and dobber switch black with 3 euro spray paint.

I know most of you must be using the Stream Deck with monitors but I fly in VR and have been working on getting the Stream Deck to work in VR. I have tried using OVR Toolkit to mirror the Stream Deck software in the VR space. It works and I can see the icons and navigate through multiple folders this way. The problem I have is the frame rates on multiplayer servers goes from 45 or so down to as low as 7 when I use OVR Toolkit. Have any of you tried any other software that brings a desktop window into VR without losing so much performance?

Waiting to be albe to create a bi-directional profile for DCS BIOS- STREAM DECK , this is a first profile that I made for F-16C, AV8BNA, F/A18C (some parts taken from profiles already made by other authors, that I thank)…

Hi Togg

Thank you for creating such beautiful icons. I've found your Github repository, and have now figured out how to download all your icons.

I've also discovered the instructions for how to install the necessary keybinds, but I'm not familiar with LUA files. Can you please clarify the following?

You have to copy the Keyboard.diff.lua file for each plane in

in

C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\PLANE\keyboard

List of files:

https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/a10c/Keyboard.diff.lua

https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/Keyboard.diff.lua

https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/rio/Keyboard.diff.lua

https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f18/Keyboard.diff.lua

Enjoy !

So, do I go to these URLS:

https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/a10c/Keyboard.diff.lua

https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/Keyboard.diff.lua

https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/rio/Keyboard.diff.lua

https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f18/Keyboard.diff.lua

And then open up each LUA file there, and copy the code inside the file into the keyboard.diff.lua file that is already in my C:\Users\XXX\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\PlaneNameHere\keyboard folder? And if so, do I overwrite the existing code in my existing keyboard.diff.lua file?

Oooh, I'm so close to getting this to work!

Hey Togg,

WOW! I've imported the profile, and my jaw actually dropped when I saw how many commands you'd set up, and how beautifully you'd done it! I'm considering buying another Stream Deck XL so I can have one on each side of my keyboard.

Unfortunately most of the buttons don't do anything - I get an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle when I use them. A couple do, such as the pilot/rio and hook button, but they're the only ones I could see working.

Here's how I installed the lua files, based on what I thought the instructions were.

1.) I opened up the Keyboard.diff.lua file located at C:\Users\benne\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\F-14B\keyboard

2.) I headed to the URL https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/Keyboard.diff.lua and copied all the code from that page into the Keyboard.diff.lua from step one, while also deleting the existing code in my original .lua file. I couldn't figure out how to simply download your .lua file, as going to the requested URL just opened it for me (I've never used github before). Hence why I did the manual copy and paste.

3.) I copied the Keyboard.diff.lua from my F-14 directory into a new folder I created at C:\Users\benne\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\F-14B\keyboard\rio, and then

overwrote its contents with the code found at https://github.com/Togg-streamdeck/dcs/blob/master/f14/rio/Keyboard.diff.lua

4.) I saved both files, restarted Stream Deck, and went into the game. Sadly most of these beautiful buttons don't do a thing.

Where have I gone wrong?

Oh, I should add that before I found your amazing work, I installed the recent Stream Deck plug in found here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=269642

I'm not sure if that could be causing problems?

Hmmm, I've just noticed that the buttons that aren't doing anything don't have a hotkey assigned to them in Stream Deck's software. Do I need to go in and manually bind all of the F-14 controls that haven't been bound?

F-14 is a work in progress so yes there are some missing bindings. You have to do it (both in DCS and the Streamdeck.) if you want to use them. The RIO seat makes the task longer than the F-18. Moreover there are some bindings that do not exist yet in the module (station switches for instance)

There is no need for a plugin. Even if it gives interesting possibilities, I want something that works standalone.

Cool, that should be easy enough. Is there anything trickier than assigning a hotkey in Stream deck that I need to know how to do?

And can I just say THANK YOU SO MUCH for creating all those beautiful icons and folders. It's an amazing piece of work. I'd love to gift you a module as a way of thanks - please send me a private message and we can sort it out. Again, thank you, you've made my purchase of the Stream Deck XL absolutely worth it.

One thing: you have to enable left/right modfier when you assign a shortcut in the streamdeck: just click the menu right to the shorcut textfield.

Thanks for the gift but I have enough modules now and not enough time biggrin.gif.

I added my button model:

You can now create your own buttons with same look. I use Inkscape.

Sorry for so many questions, but I'm not sure what you mean by this? I've never used Stream Deck before.

When you add your keyboard combo's to make the StreamDeck buttons work, StreamDeck does not make a difference between left or right shift-ctrl-alt etc.

To make StreamDeck put the correct shift out, you need press on the downarrow on the left side when entering the hotkey combo. On top of that list, you will get the option "Differentiate left/right modifiers".

Hey mate, slowly figuring out how to use Inkscape, shouldn't take long! Can I ask what font you used with the Tomcat buttons?

Next step is to create icons for the p-51d that match. Used a mix and match from many of your guys profiles for the icons for now, but just wanted to share my main page for the p-51 live data for now. Now that it's all working next step is to pull the texture files for the cockpit (anyone want to poke me in the right direction before i start?) and create plane specific icons.

I'll probably turn the live data like 92 gal information into a working analog fuel guage displayed on the stream deck. That might be nicer for the p-51 than a digital display.

I found an even nice matched font for the Tomcat - ms 33558, which fits with the Tomcat. Can I ask how you save an Inkscape image into a format usable by the Stream Deck?
