Hey guys,

Can any one direct me?

Ive been trying to get access to Viperpits.org but even after sending an email as directed, cant get login access.

I emailed Tejay "Stang" about his plans - but he's out of the plans selling business.

Im wanting to build a detailed F-16 pit with replica ACES II but cant find full plans anywhere.

Appreciate any assistance -

Cheers

Dave

If some is interested in F-16 Symulate's plans

First of all thank you for your interest in the platform plans. Yes they are still available for purchase. For further information please see the links below but essentially the first four modules build a platform with no sides and the 5th module replaces some of the components from the first four sets and allows you to add sides. In each link there is a build manual to download so this should make things easier to understand.

(1) CP and HUD Box

http://www.viperpits.org/smf/index.php/topic,10222.0.html

(2) LHS/RHS Instrument Panels and Floor

http://www.viperpits.org/smf/index.php/topic,10225.0.html

(3) LHS Aux Console

http://www.viperpits.org/smf/index.php/topic,10234.0.html

(4) RHS Aux Console

http://www.viperpits.org/smf/index.php/topic,10261.0.html

(5) Cockpit Sill and Sides

http://www.viperpits.org/smf/index.php/topic,10274.0.html

Modules 1-4 cost £25 each for a full set of .pdf plans or £35 each for .pdf and .dxf files. The fifth module is available once you have purchased the first 4 for a cost of £10. This includes both .pdf and .dxf parts. As such, the full set of plans is £150 for .dxf CAD files or £110 for just .pdf pages.

If you wish to purchase please let me know which modules you want and whether you want just pdf or pdf and dxf. You will also need to let me know what email address to send the plans to. Payment is via paypal only to sydodman@hotmail.com. Please use friends/family option to avoid fees or ask and I can send an invoice.

Thanks again,

Sy

Note: Plans cannot be shared so everyone interested will have to purchase separately!

Thanks Icebeat, these sound great.

Do you have any photos of the plans being built or a completed pit.

Thanks

Here is a sketchup file I once did based on Brenda's Aces II plans. Brenda's plans were made free to download long ago on viperpits, but they were PDF stencils. So I made this Sketchup build to help me prepare for a real Build. Never quite completed it, but I figured it was enough to plan a real build.

I would just link to his GitHub repo where the 3D files are and skip all his BS:

https://github.com/JonahTsai/F16

I'm Verisimilitude over at viperpits.org. The original thread was deleted, but basically he was ranting and raving about how he should get royalties for his 3D drawings if they're used commercially. Mr. Jonah Tsai conveniently left out my second and third follow-up post where I clarify further, but basically I pointed out that he cannot claim a copyright on a 3D drawing he made of an existing product and demand royalties from it, because all he's done is reverse engineer the original blueprint. He replied with a bunch of diatribe, but no sound reasoning at all. His whole argument rests on his erroneous belief that he should have a copyright because he created the drawings, just like how if someone made a clone of an existing product, they somehow have a right to sell it (or the rights to manufacture it).

On top of that, shortly before deleting the thread, the admin of viperpits.org pointed out that Jonah received a lot of help from the community, who donated parts to him and gave him really detailed pictures to work off of. He credited none of these people and acted like he created them by himself, which really ticked off the admin and prompted him to delete the thread.

That said, the admin did use his drawings to create a commercial ICP, which he sold a limited run of (20 units) on two websites and also eBay:

https://www.realsimworld.dk/f-16-simulator-shop/center-system-parts/icp-intergrated-control-panel

Whether this was a "dick move" or not is up to personal interpretation, but at least from a legal standpoint, since Jonah doesn't own the original copyright to the ICP design, anyone can sell one whether he likes it or not. And from a "this is how the world works" viewpoint, if he wanted to be paid royalties for commercial usage of his drawings, then he shouldn't have thrown it into a public repo accessible by anyone. This is like placing a sign on your front door that says "$100,000 inside, please do not rob me", then getting upset when you get robbed.

My god - that panel really is a work of art. I was wondering how the cost could be justified at first, then scrolled down to the pictures and text.
