Please ED! Give Us a Description.lua Tool!

Hi.

The problem: We have no working a tool to get description.lua from a cockpit EDM file.

You added Customized Cockpit menu for the modules to use custom cockpit mods. That is an excellent feature!

We do own cockpit mods. We used to use a tool developed by Uboats (thanks him tons of tons!) but it doesn't portable with EDM files anymore, since you've started to use new texturing technique (or something).

Could you please solve this issue? A tool or a method for us to get that lua?

Thank you.

D.

I think material names might only be on your internal version. The current public model viewer 2 has no function to show material names.

Yes, please! Something to give us the correct structure for a description.lua of newer EDMs

Can't find that feature and there're no any corner left I've looked at.

At least, could you please and please tell about possible methods to get a material names?

If I need to buy and install a 3D software, I'll try to do it.

Please!

Yeah, this isn't what I asked for at all. I asked for materials, NOT textures. My P-51 livery, for example, has a seperate texture for both the left and right wheel materials. I already know the material names for the left and right wheels for the P-51, which is P51D_FUZ_FRONT_WHEEL_R for the right wheel's material name, and P51D_FUZ_FRONT_WHEEL_L for the left. Standardly, both materials would share the same texture, the one listed in the drop down, “p51d_wheel”.

Textures ≠ Materials

Thanks for trying, but that is not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a method to get MATERIAL names to use in the description.lua of liveries/cockpits, and the extractor tool worked wonderfully, up until the new EDM formats. SkateZilla, I would appreciate it if material names for objects were more easily accessible to skinners, particularly those who want to skin aircraft with the latest EDM format, such as the warbirds, F/A-18, and F-14 for example. Maybe someone could pick up the now open source EDM extractor tool, and update it.
