Couby
First draft. Proud of this first print and assembly. Almost wired, still have to finish weapon selector wiring. As mentioned, this is a first draft with low quality printing. Nicer things to do with the model I designed ????????. At this stage, no plan to share or sell the design or the stick. My focus for the moment is on getting it working and as beautiful as possible. Any feedback from pictures are welcome. There are always things to learn from other views ????. Many thanks to Cédric, my childhood friend, collector, who allow me to access a real one. And many thanks to Dimebug, the joy master I learn a lot working with on a similar project. Couby
Some details on this build. How I ensure foot robustness and longevity. I use some brass inserts. That's great for that purpose. AH_Solid_Snake
Very impressive work! Some questions 1) How did you handle the DLC rotary? Is this effectively mapped to button pushes? 2) Do you have any plans to eventually share the stick via shapeways or something so the rest of us can have a go?
Couby
How are you handling the i2c interface? Hi Wrench, I simply reuse the TM PCB integrated to the stick I convert with its i2c interface. For the moment behind the dlc wheel it is a (on)-off-(on) switch. Don't know if it will be an acceptable compromise. 2) that's something I think about. Not decided for the moment. Couby
All wired and functional, hooray :pilotfly:. No surprise on the weapon selector, already knew huge improvement is needed. Sirius
Simply, awesome. I am very excited to get my hands on this 3D print if you do plan on releasing it out. Maybe HB could give you a copy of the Tomcat for you to set up controls for so we can all download a set file with your electronics. :music_whistling: ;) DCS: Livery Art Group Administrator Beginners Guide to Systems Coding DCS: Livery Art Group 3rd Party Campaign Voice Actor/Beta Tester
Couby
Congratulations my friend. Thank you Arturo :). Simply, awesome. I am very excited to get my hands on this 3D print if you do plan on releasing it out. Maybe HB could give you a copy of the Tomcat for you to set up controls for so we can all download a set file with your electronics. Thanks Sirius. I took a look to a Shapeways release. I studied an option where I was releasing the main body on Shapeways, and the rest for free on Github/Thingiverse. But the price of the main body on Shapeways, even with the cheapest material, is... insane . ~160 bucks, without any fee for me. At such price, I prefer to print and sell directly... I took a look with Sculpteo, a Shapeways alternative, that was worse, ~200 bucks at least just for the main body. I'll take my time to think more how to value and share. For now I'm more focus on making a more complete and final product. ------------------------------------------- I fixed the adjustment for the weapon selector. Now the mechanical behaviour is better, there's less friction and that's great :). I made some progress on the dual extrusion version of the weapon selector (published on Instagram). Still not the targeted quality. I'll resume on that later. For the moment I'm focusing on an alternative electronic board. Anyone would prefer an additional grip instead of converting its existing one  . Couby
Some updates :). WIP on some aesthetic details : There's the side grip rework remaining for that field of improvement. Next, well advanced but still many work, a foot evolution and alternative electronic integration, this to go from conversion to fully additional stick : I'm waiting for some components in order to go further for integration. Looking forward receiving them  . :pilotfly: Airman, maker & digital explorer My F-14 stick project Retrieve me on Instagram or Twitter
