2.5.4 - VR very intermittent shadow on one eye

I haven't even had time to check this out, but I really hope ED is aware of this and will be able to provide a hotfix before the holidays. They've provided hotfixes on the weekend before.

High cloud density still causes fps drops, and clouds seem to have reverted back to making annoying pop ins!

Edit- seems to be solved using dynamic weather though

Man am I glad I found this thread, I was really concerned that my 1080 was about to let the smoke out. The flickering shadow thing looked very much like a card death I had a few years ago, and the holidays have made sure that I don’t have funds for immediate replacement. Really glad ED is aware of this.

Yep. I noticed popping clouds are back as well. : (

Oh yes: it briefly brought back memories of VRAM failures on my old GTX680. Seeing 'artefacts' rarely is good news.

On top of that, patches of trees are popping in and out of existence (in the Caucasus map). Also temporarily 'fixed' by the "setting water to medium"- work-around.

Good thinking on whoever first changed water settings as a workaround for now. Makes sense that I was only experiencing "flashes" of black flying over the coast.

 

 

Still getting some stutters with cloud presets as well here.. will have to try adjusting my cloudy missions to dynamic weather and see if I notice a difference.

Is this on all maps?

The black flash i had on Normandy with the warbirds.

Regarding VR performance, I did not notice any performance increase.

IT is an issue with the water being set to High. if it bothers you, drop the water to medium and it will go away. But, now your water will look like ass...

I got 5 on it, only because it's also a non-VR issue. If it was only a VR issue I would not bet on it. We're the step-kids of the community. :)

Anyone know if there was a fix implemented for this?

System: 9700, 64GB DDR4, 2070S, NVME2, Rift S, Jetseat, Thrustmaster F18 grip, VPC T50 stick base and throttle, CH Throttle, MFG crosswinds, custom button box, Logitech G502 and Marble mouse.

Server: i5 2500@3.9Ghz, 1080, 24GB DDR3, SSD.
