SFX100 DIY Motion sim - Programmer needed!

In post https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3889580&postcount=29 you can see in the third video how the 4 flaps are connected mechanically to the ground. This system has grown over the last 2 years and i would not recommand to build it this way. i always screw the wood together with only an idea in my head to find out how it works.

If you have a gseat you can drive the flaps as shown in the video.

If you have no gseat , than build the Platform First with a very simple wooden seat. You can than replace it by a wooden gseat at each time by connecting the flaps to the ground and with a few rubber Bands as shown in the video.

I have no guide but i could make some Fotos you need from Details which are not Clearing and try to answer any questions.

thanks for the info, you said that you will not recommend building like this, how would you do it?

thanks.

I would try to get the Center of gravity nearer to the ground. So i would put the flight pedals on the left and right side of the car pedals. Then i could Mount the gseat directly with the bottom on the Plattform. I would Mount the actuators outside of the platform. Deeper cg and a bit wider means faster movements possible.

Hi,

DCSTelemetryProvider_1_2_v2 is released in the discord. The sources are public on https://github.com/SimFeedback/SimFeedback-AC-Servo.

You can adjust your profiles by the following parameters:

-Angle of Attack

-Pitch

-Pitchrate

-Pitch Rate of Change

-Roll

-Rollrate

-Roll Rate of Change

-Yawrate

-Yaw Rate of Change

-Heave

-Surge

-Sway

-Speed

this allows you to create very individual profiles.

Have fun and please give some feedback as soon as you get some experiences with the Simfeedback-DCS-Plugin!

By the way:

Sorry, that I repost the video, which shows the new plugin in action - but it has over 2000 plays since i uploaded it to vimeo 5 days ago and from these plays only 20 (in words: twenty) came from the DCS-Forum. I would be happy if a few flight enthusiastic people on the world could have the fun that I have flying a plane or heli in DCS with this plugin.

I have been trying it a little in the last week but waiting for my warthog replacement before I can give it a good go.

It is working well so far. Love the landings with motion and the prop planes are great on the ground with the wobble from the engine.

I have not been using my harness with it until I get my stick fixed but put it on tonight with a couple good effects felt, like sudden deceleration in level flight had my harness pulling in to me. Look forward to more flying with it.

Great news for you builders! I accidentally just discovered the a Plugin has been developed for Xplane11. I don't know if it works as nicely as the DCS plugin, but I'm thrilled that we at least have something as I began this SFX100 project in hopes that a plug in would be developed for both Xplane11 and DCS. My gamble has now paid off.

I did not find anything regarding this, but anybody tried this project with Teknic Clearpath motors?

I am looking into possible substitution of the motors because with Clearpath the controller is built into the motor, also it runs on DC which is simpler for me in north america. Sourcing is much easier too.

Good question, I will prefer to use Clearpath too because of voltage (110-220), shipping time and 3 years of warranty.

Clearpath can be run with Thanos AMC1280USB. Also check out Thanos's new controller for servos.

For software, I'm beta testing this and helping perfect it: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/flypt-mover-interface.13464/page-12#post-182166 It is a massive leap forward in motion sim control. FlyPT has been putting a ton of effort into the DCS World direct mode and it's already amazing (though still with bugs!),

Simtools can control the SFX100 actuators with the Thanos motion controller: https://www.tindie.com/products/tronicgr/amc-aasd15a-servo-motion-controller/

I currently have a 5sof platform that I designed and build using SCN60 actuators. I recently added a G5 G seat, and the rig is now too heavy for the SCN60s to move, so I'm about to start the SFX100 build, using the larger 110ST motors. I'll start a thread when I get rolling and link it from here.

For your Gseat, how is the DCS integration?

moespeeds, I'm not sure if you mean my gseat? If not then simply forget this answer: my gseat uses the multicontroller capability of simfeedback. So I bought 4 extra motors, build my wooden gseat and set the 4 motors up by adding a second arduino Leonardo. So these 4 motors can be controlled by simfeedback with the same parameters from the dcs plugin which I posted above. Mainly surge, sway, heave, yawrate but you can also experiment with all the others for example AOA...

There are more videos in my channel which show more detail of my gseat.

In the post above from May 17. 2019 I described the dcs-plugin for the software simfeedback. This is the original software from the sfx-100 diy actuator system. And therefore I wrote the dcs-plugin with the help of the sfx-100 project founder. So you can use all the described parameters to control the 4 gseat motors by graphs. Simfeedback can only control the ac motors from the sfx-100 project and not the gs5.

Hi H2,

I ran into your post a little while back and was very interested in  your DCS plugin.

Very impressed with the setup you have made.

I had just decidedt that I wanted to get on board with the SFX team to start building my own rig for DCS, when they shut down the site due to the illegal commercial use of the software.

By coincidence I returned to the SFX website again today and noticed the they are allowing new members, but only after sponsorship.

Are you by any chance in the position to sponsor me at the SFX100 website so I can join and start to bulld my own rig?

If not, do you know anybody else who might sponsor me?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Best regards!

Tom

Hi Tom, I think that I can sponsor you. Let' use pm.

Harry I'm not sure if you can sponsor 2 people, but I'm also seeking access if you wouldn't mind. I currently have a 5 dof that I scratch built, using SCN6 actuators and Frex power. I'm upgrading to an SFX100 setup, using 110ST motors that I will adapt to fit the 90ST mounts. I'm also using an 80ST to drive traction loss/yaw. Adding the Gseat and Gbelt tensioner added 100 lbs to my rig, and I've now overloaded my SCN6's. I have all the SFX parts on order now.

Hello

I have just finished building my set up. A motion platform SFX 100 with Arduino an SimFeedBack and  a Aero VR HMD but now iam experiencing issues i have never encountered when i only use VR .

As soon as i start the motionplatform and touch my HMD  for example to  reposition it on my face my VR world starts clipping , freezing , stcking, jerking how erver you want to call it, while i am turning my head around, very obnouxious.  only touching the headset freezes the VR  and only when simfeedback is running with the platform.  With motion turned down there are no issues.  Could it be the Export.lua file ?

Anyone  ?
