what about release the demo of black-shark this year...??

Recommended Posts

Wait for July. There will be some huge announcements regarding Black Shark.

I'm worried that people are starting to blow this out of proportion . . . . .

There will be a significant announcement in July, yes. But don't expect it to give a release date of yesterday, a flyable Harrier/Tiger/B-2 Spirit, and a dynamic campaign to beat Falcon 4's ;)

Stay grounded, people. Black Shark will remain the best helicopter simulation I've ever heard of, spectacular fun (I'm a fast jet jock and it's converted me to helos just like that), and an incredible demonstration of ED's ability . . . . but try to stay focussed on the realities of it all . . . .

By the look of the LOD of those those Artillery units, they've got to be releasing a tank sim

a dynamic campaign to beat Falcon 4's ;) .

Dang . . . this was my secret hope for the announcement too . . .

Guess that was a bit out of ED's league, at least for the current engine anyway . . .

WOW! why didn't you say so sooner, and to think my expectations were grounded and that I tried to to stay focussed on the realities of it all.

Yeah I'm bored :D

Sorry guys, as Groove mentioned the announcement should be made soon. Much of detailed data on what we have modelled in Ka-50 will be available then. :smilewink:

who told you there would be such? Thats why these standoff hints that something will be announced soon too often cause wild speculations. I expect no more than about 1000 new tank models pics . :D everything else will be a bonus. :)

If the choppers are flying slower than 100kts. (maybe a bit less) fighters won't be able to see them on radar.

Is that true? Two reasons, why would that work, I would assume that a radar wouldn't be effected by low speeds, only speeds faster then the speed of the radar waves emitted?

Secondly I swear there have been plenty of times I've locked on to slow moving 'choppers. Either that or I assume I have done.

Depends on speed, altitude, aspect and how well the radar is modelled...

The SU-27 / 33 will have it best with their passive IR capability.

Theoretically speaking, the radar is designed to squelch anything that might resemble civilian traffic driving at, say, 100kmph. Thats not exactly fast, as thats what, 60 mph? I do know that J-STARS aircraft have to do this, maybe AWACS as well. These are the 2 types of aircraft that operate in the Gulf of Mexico for drug interdiction, and the radars are sensitive enough to pick up bags of pot (or coke, heroin, dead drug lords, and whatever misc. packages floating about) drifting in the water current.
