My own observations:

- F10 map fixed;

- crash on exit fixed;

- didn't have problems with the SoH map so can't comment on that;

- performance problems indeed still present as you describe;

*updated September 1th:

- everything is so blurry I get nauseous after flying half an hour or more.

I'm rolling back to Release until this is fixed.

I was not having any issues prior to the Hotfix, other than the game crashing when making changes to the controller menu whilst in VR. My performance was really quite good.

Today's hotfix it is still good for me, I certainly don't have the glaring VR issues many others have, but fps seemed to drop a little on me - not sure if related to the hotfix or not.

before launching DCS, change your desktop resolution to 1080p. Will work until next patch, or you will have to rollback to release.

Here you go - seems to work quite nicely on an Oculus Rift with up-to-date SteamVR (beta), Oculus Services and Nvidia drivers and the last open beta. No more crash on exit to desktop.

This can serve as a workaround while ED takes a look. Use the following short-cut:

"X\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" --force_steam_VR

Note: Check your SteamVR settings if you are not familiar with them, as in, check the SteamVR/Settings/Video tab and set a manual override for the application resolution you want, turn off the 'pause rendering when headset is idle' in Settings/Developer. In the latest SteamVR reprojection is on by default and cannot be changed.

Did not help at all. In fact making it run with steam makes it worse because the oculus still needs oculus home running to work so it wastes even more resources and frame rates get worse.

Still unable to play in VR after hotfix, locks up during load screen, Core 11 goes rogue to 100% load and DCS hangs, no crash report but have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get out.

Tried rolling back Nvidia driver, no joy. Used repair and clean in Skatezilla, vanilla install, no mods at all - still no bueno.

So rolled back to previous Open Beta version, hopefully something changes soon or I'll miss multiplayer missions with my group.

Wish I could say the same. Menu items, e.g. 'Fly' or 'Quit', don't work, still the horrible blurred graphics - easiest to see when tilting wings left or right over trees or large areas of buildings - as well as F10 map zoomed in to max which takes quite a few seconds of zooming out by which time, your plane cold be doing anything!

For what its worth.

I tried 2.5.3 in VR yesterday, and had no problems. Performance was good, everything was its usual. No problems in the menu either - any of them.

I am on Win 7-64 though, so no ASW here. Also, I only run 1.0 PD and no MSAA (yes I know, but I want as close to 90 fps as possible). Dont know if that could have an impact, or make a difference.

- Jack of many DCS modules, master of none.

- Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS.

ok updated about an hour ago and now i have multiple problems.

1, stutters and lags in the vr headset which i didnt have b4 update

2, f10 map is borked.. runways/names/ icons everything is all over the place and when u zoom in they slowly make their way back to the proper place on the map ( only ingame not the mission editor)

3, leaving a multiplayer server is causing massive loading ,sometimes locks up game completely ( my own server aswell with just me in it ( was testing it out ))

4, Try to load up a module, open "edit controls" and try to change some binding. Screen freezes for some time and then Oculus rift render HAS ISSUES, no 3d effect and extreme noisea

5.no visual rain on the canopy of the harrier ... has on the f18 but no fancy rain streaks etc still.

6. ASW mode does not work

edit : added in a few more

Confirming much of these...

Good you wrote this down cause I was just preparing for some serious windows/drivers harrasement...

As far as I can tell, there is no issue with performance. The issue is that ASW has stopped working. Ignoring the situation where frame rates are below 45 fps, there is only a problem when frame rates are between 45 - 90 fps. Usually ASW would kick in at this point and smooth things out (although with some artefacts). Now, it doesn't and you get a juddering which many people find very uncomfortable. It can be experienced easily by moving head (translating) left to right, the cockpit will judder. Or by rolling the aircraft and looking out to the side - the horizon and land will also judder. And although ASW is not working, the frame rate continues to be locked to 45 fps.

At 90 fps there is no problem.

There is some confusion because some people turn off ASW (e.g. with Oculus Tray Tool) all the time. In this case the frame rate will not lock to 45 but will vary continuously between 45 - 90. Clearly the people who do this all the time will notice no difference. However, I (and many) find the juddering and the fluctuating frame rates uncomfortable.

Also, previous to the update, I could take the Rift off, and the game would continue to update on screen. Now it doesn't, the display on screen freezes at the point I took the HMD off, although the game continues to run.

Guest arc_tander

I just updated from OpenBeta prior to Weds to the hotfix.

FPS has gone from either 45 (on the ground) and 90 fps (in the air) to 23 at Fujairah.

23.

I couldn't even look around the cockpit without feeling bad.

I cannot fly with it like this. Here's hoping for a fix soon.

I had all the reported issues, after the hotfix i'm unable to get past the menu.

The gui seems to be at a different resolution so i'm unable to reach any of the options below half way.

I'm on Oculus, win 10 Titan x (pascal) i7 7700k.
