Update: I finally received the correct parts and production has started again. I expect to send out invoices on Monday for the current group.

Hey Peter,

 

I have not sent any invoices yet. I got caught up trying to finish the GUI and a firmware cursor refinement achieved through code and sensor setting changes.

 

Its always a balance for me between making updates/improvements to PointCTRL, and production for sales. I know there are still a lot of back-orders, but I discovered an opportunity to improve things for the early adopters, as well make PointCTRL better for new users.

 

Apologies for those waiting, and for me not treating this like a business and just filling the orders as is. In the end, I think everyone will be more satisfied with PointCTRL.

 

I have added several automation steps to production, so once it gets going full speed again, we should move through the list quickly.

Update The chip manufacturer finally fixed the mislabeling issue. Production will be starting again tomorrow.

I have had several sessions in front of the new GUI. It is intuitive and should meet almost all of your calibration and set up needs without having to do them within VR. It is as you see in the vid.

Firmware Update: HeloGuy, Deano, and a few other have been testing a new firmware that increases cursor resolution, and makes button presses more consistent. I was going to wait to put it out, but I added it as a beta option on the firmware page.

The password is on your invoice, If you cant find it just ask me on discord. I will be removing the password requiment as soon as I refine some of the firmware security.

 

This update wont change your current calibration and settings, and you can switch back to the original at any time.

 

Please let me know what you think, its easy to tweak now that the heavy lifting is done.

I am coding the serial coms for transferring the settings variables Sirrah.

 

I am going to put out a small program for those that would like to help. You just to run a small app and it will help me determine the visible limits inside the different VR headset models.

Important Update: I uploaded the wrong version of the Firmware to the website, it has lag and other issues.

Deano found some issues with the correct beta version. I am fixing them now and should have a good update live within the hour.

From the documentation, it appears we will have: left click, right click, and scroll wheel. Does the last include a (middle) click? I find double middle-click useful for turning the mouse cursor on/off. It is by default bound to a hot key (L-ALT C), but of course, it would be really convenient to activate/deactivate this using Point Ctrl.

There is not currently a center mouse button. Is their additional functionality achieved when the mouse cursor is off? PointCTRL automatically hides the cursor when the FCUs are out of view or timed out.

No additional functionality. It's just that with the regular mouse the time out takes so long and the blue cross is distracting especially in critical moments that I often just switch it off instead of waiting it out. Now this relates just to the regular mouse --- not sure how things will work with PointCTRL as I am not yet one of the lucky ones to have received mine! I guess if returning my hands to their resting positions on the HOTAS will take the FCU's out of view than it will work perfectly. I suspect though that I may still need to LALT-C or double click the mouse middle button to effect this. Or just get used to waiting out the time out!

I just want to drop in here to say that I installed the new beta firmware and the finger tracking is fantastic. 100% matches my standard mouse tracking with no "shaking" or "jumping".

I'm pretty sure you can use it for whatever VR software you like, as long as it has mouse support.

i doubt that, as other sims provide their mouse interaction in a diffrent manner, someone owning PCtrl and having xplane may check, but i woulnd t make a bet

yeah maybe, but x plane 11 basically only use left and right click...I can bind any keys to the knobs of Vr pointing device?

I know MilesD answers all questions but at the moment he is trying to catch up on production and finishing the GUI/firmware side so it may take him a little longer to respond. Hope this helps.
