Let us shoot pilots out of the sky after they eject

As a vr player i think it would be awesome, your chute gets shot out and you plummet to your death sweet..

i agree allot of sugar ferries in this forum, war is war

just because some don't care for irrelevant and unnecessary feature in an air combat Study level sim makes such users sugar ferries? THis isn't ARMA where a downed pilot needs to first attempt to hitch their way back across the map in a stolen civilian vehicle to the airfield before , switching into another airplane at an Airbase.

ED never added such a feature nor have they ever openly expressed interest in doing so, as it servers no purpose to the outcome of a SP mission nor a MUltiplayer match ( only self gratification to some) by further removing the other teams fighting capability.

Deal with it.

Why do you care then? So much political correctness over something like that.

If it's irrelevant, why are you even here discussing it? When something is irrelevant to me I stay away.

This feature won't make you a murderer, just like bombing a civil town won't make you a terrorist, don't be afraid. :)

Well, speaking of simulation, unfortunately.

It could only be made a collidable physical object with the aircrafts, so it would damage airframe and engines, but weapons would go through like a ghost.

That would also encourage everyone to actually avoid parachuting pilots more than now.

For SAR, the visibility aspect of the parachuting pilot, parachute GFX effects(reflection, lighting) should be improved for realistic accuracy, so if enemy notices the parachute it could predict that other military forces would be swarming around soon.

But someone could also eject out in an area on purpose for decoy, and SAR it without much military escort in that location.

I see that most of you hold notions of warfare comparable in their mythology to people who hate hunters but buy meat from factory farms.

-edit and somehow you equate a video game to real life along with it @@

LOL then by your logic, using it against you , you shouldn't care either from your end.

pray tell why is it that those in favour of such a feature are so afraid against the Idea of an option enforced Rules, when you using the Realism/ Simulation argument for including the ability of shooting down pilots?

Its comes of quite hypocritical and one sided to your POV to want to shoot down pilots but be upset at the notion that i or others suggest Server Hosts ( thinking of them in terms of a like a CO) can Choose to enforce Such a Issue ( IE virtual Prison punishment) or KIcking from the Server ( Court Martial) for doing so? and Resorting to Labeling anyone who is not in complete unanimous agreement with your POV as PC. Server Hosts and Admins already have the right to setup thier scenarios how they like and enforce other rules or Restrictions on entirely different matters. THis isnt a strech, and very fair that this is left as an option to a Hypothetical if ED implemented Killable pilot AI.

Why thats "simulation" for you right there. but no Its not ok when It only works entirely in your favor.

He just requested a feature, this whole discussion wasn't even necessary.

I suppose I contributed to it by rising to the bait, I just couldn't leave unchallenged people claiming some form of moral superiority over something this asinine that is part of virtually every combat flight simulator I can think of, and has the obvious MP appeal of rubbing it in after downing someone. All this faux outrage, and talk about it being unrealistic because Geneva makes my face hurt (because invincible pilots is realistic, and this from the same people who will quibble over minutiae in a plane)

If pilot's become destructible at some point, I'm going to make a special point to return to this thread. I remember nearly getting lynched by the faux-realists for requesting the ability to change skins with the payload interface (which we later got).

Dude! Really NO! There is already unhealthy ability to attack civilians by placing Air Show Crowd static object as enemy target. I don't want DCS to turn into a realistic GTA. We already have too many civilians killed, as collateral and as targets, in RW, without need to reinforce that reality. If Anything I want to see white neutral objects added to DCS, so that missions can be designed to hit red or blue targets while avoiding white.

Well shooting down parachute is available in IL-2 and I sometimes did it on purpose.

Not being able to shoot down a parachute is some kind of unrealism to me. It's not about moral.

A very simple way to satisfy both, I think is to make parachutes disappear when they are shot, mark the pilots dead. If the parachutes landed, mark the pilot survive. I won't need much code to do it, just about physics.

Moral side, taking down an entire village by bombs in the game, you won't do it in real life in most cases. And those who really kill people in the real world, I don't think they care about a gore feature in the game.

I can understand both sides of you guys.

if a pilot were to be marked survived and still remain on the map even after Actual player left into another slot, there would actually be a point to have CSAR mission for Rotorheads flying Utility copters.

Pointsfor Pilots rescued and brought back to base from behind enemy lines
