NineLine, I would think that the actual mission file would be more helpful than the track file. In another flight sim that I was heavily involved with before coming to DCS full time, the track file would very often replay with different results than what occurred during the mission. I think that the .miz file would be a better way to try to reproduce a bug. I am at work at the moment but I will send you a couple of my .miz files that result in sliding on the deck.

I'll take anything anyone wants to give me :)

So yes, above I did ask if it's a custom mission too send it my way.

I had old missions that had me sliding around, but new ones don't.

This one should have the slide issue

Thanks, I will try it tonight.

As an experiment, on your end, try resaving the mission and see if the problem continues.

There you go, Im uploading for you de dxdiag, trk, and miz, miz is a simple only f-18 and carrier that i just made to showcase this, winds are calm

it's worth poiting out that the carrier starts at 10kt, i start taxing no problems, then i wait for it to acelerate for roughly 27kt before start taxing again and the problems start.

In case you can't reproduce the sliding on the track for whatever reason i'm also uploading it to youtube as I was doing the mission itself (not track) as a not listed video, on recording the video i tryed to keep the nose wheel in sight so you can see when its moving and when it's not while observing the slide

Version is current Open beta 2.5.2.20143

Mission in single player, same effect on multiplayer on any type of mission and map

Good luck,

Just wanted to add. I just had a terrible time on our Persian Gulf server. As soon as I loaded weapons, I started to slide across the deck. I had to disconnect before slamming into another jet. He was sliding too. Separate issue, a memory leak happened and my game crashed after filling all 16Gb of my mem.

I want so badly to love this, but I always run into some crappy issue in multiplayer.

So I took control of the track, and was able to get the wingtip vortices to happen, but again, not the sliding, it's very strange.

I did that already.

Resaving didn't help, creating a new one did.

Overall groundhandling in the new mission was very different than the old mission. In the old mission the wheels felt much more sticky than the new one. In the new mission I would use less power to get the A/C moving from a standstill.

It's funny the new missions thing not causing the sliding because the mission for the video I just made was just created yesterday from scrach to showcase it.

About the vortex thing it doesn't causes problems at all just looks kind of bad, as a pilot IRL I'd say this it not a Hornet problem, the threshold for activation of the vortex should be lower on every aircraft to be simplistic

To be realistic it should take into consideration the air humidity to define how easily it forms (maybe even at a 1G higher AoA as it's on the sim right now if humidity is high)

Same goes for Icing alerts (on the hornet) and stuff like pitot freezing and IAS failure on the A-10 for instance, it doesn't matter how cold it is it shouldnt happend if there is no visible moisture in the air (cloud/fog), on real aircraft we ony turn anti-ice on if we have both low temps and moisture. On the other hand i have no idea how difficult this would be to model in-game.

Just realized that in my track, the boat was only doing 12knots.

EDIT: Did another one with carrier speed at 29knots and no wind. Sliding all over the place.

EDIT EDIT: Here is another one. Carrier doing 24 knots. Thats the speed where sliding starts. Up till 24 knots things seems fine. Once I have started sliding the A/C will continue to be in that state until RPM reach 65% or I get enough groundspeed on deck, even with fully applied wheel brakes.

Good for you. I'm sliding after landing on a boat doing only 15 Knots. As soon as I turn on NWS HI and turn away from the landing zone, I start sliding. Also, often significant power is needed to just get the Hornet moving.
