imacken
Ever since DS, pretty much all reflections in glass instruments have disappeared for me. Is this a permanent thing? imacken
They are right there in the second picture you posted. I know I was exaggerating, but they are almost invisible except for the artificial horizon indicator. Look at Chuck's Guide on the K-4 p13 for another example. Look at a piece of glass or a curved camera lens in the sun in real life and tell me which is closer to being natural, my first attachment or the second. Is this a natural consequence of DS, a conscious design decision on the part of ED or something that will be improved going forward? some1
The original ones were way overdone. They show the cockpit without pilot body, so they are not realistic. In real life, the cockpit is very small and your head would block the sun from behind, so the reflections wouldn't be as crazy. Also they are static in DCS, so these are shown regardless of the sun and aircraft position. That makes them look bad, especially with Trackir or VR, because they don't follow head movement.
